Do I even have any options at this point?

As of today I am no longer employed, and I have absolutely no idea why or what to do. I've had this job for the past month and a half, and so far things have been going really well as far as I was concerned. I put a break to school, to save up for a car so I wont have issue with my attendance due to that being part of the grade where I attend. (I had to switch campuses to continue with classes for trade school) My boss has been giving me more hours, in place of other employees he'd rather have working less. Due to my prior experience, he had no need to train me on handling cash or orders. He was even considerate of the fact im a veteran, with a really bad back, and have no transportation outside public transit. But now as I was…

As of today I am no longer employed, and I have absolutely no idea why or what to do. I've had this job for the past month and a half, and so far things have been going really well as far as I was concerned. My boss has been giving me more hours, in place of other employees he'd rather have working less. Due to my prior experience, he had no need to train me on handling cash or orders. He was even considerate of the fact im a veteran, with a really bad back, and have no transportation outside public transit.

But now as I was told just earlier, I am no longer employed because I have a bad attitude??

Of course in my confusion I asked what he meant. As per my bosses word, the night shift manager said I had a bad attitude. She also told him I was over cooking fries all night. At no point during my time working here so far have I had any issues or instances or being reprimanded for anything. Not my efficiency, not how I conduct myself, absolutely nothing. I also get along with everyone here just fine, the only outlier is our night manager. Who 100% stay to herself, and barely interacts with anyone.

As of just yesterday, about 2 hrs into my shift. She asks me to hand her some fries and another item for an order. Items which my coworker, whos on the grill/meat, has already told me to put down. Everyone but me has a headset. So I take instructions from everyone else around me.

She then got upset because I couldnt give her what she wanted, and started to berate me. I simply apologized and explained it was cooking, and tried to loosen up the tension by saying that I had to wait for one of the fryers to be freed up to begin the order he had just given me in a more light hearted voice. Even my coworker pointed out he had JUST gave me that order. But had to wait a sec to start. She just gave us a look and walked away.

For the instance with so called “burnt” fries. She herself told me to walk away from taking them out, to go and grab something for another order. So when I pulled them up after doing exactly as I was told, and dropping in another item. The fries were slightly darker than the golden brown they normally are.

My bosses explanation was that I was disrespectful, and that its too much trouble when I “make up excuses” about not being able to walk several miles to work just because the buses are running late or having issues. As well as her pointing out to him I sometimes have to ask her or someone else to repeat what they said. I have chronic back pain, and hearing loss from the navy. Something I had informed him of since the beginning.

Do I have ANY recourse of options here? I dont understand how 1 moment, my boss the entire time is telling me how well im doing, to this literally over night. How is it I was being disrespectful exactly? She was being pretty damn rude about the situation, but I thought I was being professional enough by simply apologizing and explain how theres nothing else I can do but wait for it.

I really lost at the moment on how I should go about this. I dont even really understand wtf I did wrong.
