I was fired about two weeks ago from a job for six med errors. Which is insane because in all my years of caregiving I’ve never had a single one and after 3 med errors you have to retake the med class which they never had me do.. After three you’re supposed to get a retraining and after five you’re not able to pass medication anymore. I’ve been talked to for one med error that happened while I was working, and it wasn’t even my fault I was just a witness. Then suddenly 7 days after I threaten to quit because of the work environment and 1 day after I documented physical aggression amongst residents (which is heavily frowned upon they much rather us just ignore it and verbally communicate so the team doesn’t think the facility is poorly ran) my manager calls to tell me that. So I’m just wondering what and if there is anything I can do.. I still to this day never signed any paper work for right ups I don’t even know what the med errors they’re accusing me of are for..
TLDR: Group home fired me for med errors, you can’t pass meds with more than 3, they accused me of having 6. you’re supposed to sign the paperwork for each med error. I never saw ANY paper work. What can I do?
