My position was eliminated. And you know what? I’m not upset. I’m kind of excited about it actually. My job was boring and unfulfilling. I’ve got a 3-month severance plus vacation payout and 3 months of health insurance. I’ve got some consulting work starting in a couple of weeks and some job prospects. Now I am just going to take some time for myself and enjoy my summer of freedom. Being laid off is supposed to be a crisis, and I suppose it is, but there are a lot of positives to this so I’m going to enjoy it while I can!
