Just started a bunch of problems at my new job

I started a new job last Tuesday. It's not the best job or the job I wanted but bills need to be paid you know. I'm in construction and got hired by a company doing residential work, mainly foundations and utilities for subdivisions and the main parent company manages subcontractors to build the houses. Anyways im working with this guy and we were talking about my hiring process, I explained to him why I took this position because the project manager position I was offered first was technically lower pay per hour( 50 hr weeks at 55k/yr, compared to 25/hr hourly with potential for overtime). I was in commercial construction before this so I'm having to learn about how things are done in this residential company. Turns out the lead guy managing a majority of the work also makes 25/hr, 2 of the other guys who have been here for 3+ years and understand this work alot better than me are making less than me. The lead guy is pissed and going to discuss his pay with the owner soon or possibly quit. They said last time this happened the owner threatened to just fire the new guy who was basically in my position making the same as the lead guy so they didn't want to bring it up to him. I told them to please do it, because it's illegal to fire me for discussing my wages and if he does I will sue him, and also get to collect unemployment. I never stopped looking for the position and salary I actually want and don't plan to be here very long anyways.
