A message to the CEO of my company

Georgia is in a state of emergency from the upcoming Hurricane Idalia. Walmart is closed. Schools are closed. The Hurricane has been upgraded to a Category 4. Instead of caring about our well-being, yesterday they sent us an email saying “We are monitoring the hurricane Idalia. You have work tomorrow, if you don’t want to come in you can use PTO, a sick day, or you will get in trouble” which is another way of saying it’s just another day in the office. I already felt uncertain about this company over the past few months, but I’ve now discovered many other people looking for other jobs ready to leave. You view the aircraft as more valuable than the people that build them. You flew the planes away to another airfield to prevent damage, yet you make us come to work in a literal hurricane? Fuck you, fuck your bottom line,…
