I wanted to try pizza delivery in my spare time. I told the SBO during the interview what I'm making and expect, and he said not to worry – you'll get tips to cover it.
Now, a month later
I'm getting $2/delivery.
Most customers tip 10%, but never got more than $10 tip. Usually it's $4-5/order of at least 50. The daily receipt shows the owner is paying me 6-8% of the orders amounts.
The store charges customers $5/delivery already.
I clock out bc the store time is @14.50 $/hour .
Is this acceptable ?
I've never done this before.
Also, the air conditioner is constantly breaking.
It was 99 degrees INSIDE THE STORE last Sunday and Wednesday, he didn't buy us water.
I felt nauseous and was too tiredm
I told him- I'm sorry, but I can't work when it's so hot. Showed him my device had heart rate 118.
He said that he didn't have any other drivers.
So I texted him yesterday that I'm not making any money as he promised.
He said he can't pay more. I said that I'm not working Saturday night.
This store isn't busy. He said that he ran an ad. Max we had was 45 order per whole day.
I barely get 3-5 deliveries per 4-6 hours..
I don't want to clean floors and wash dishes. He doesn't have waterproof gloves or aprons, I brought mine.
He called it “helping at the store “@ interview .
Also AC isn't fixable as I pushed for the information.
I feel stupid and abused. I stayed past agreed upon 7pm last Friday, until 10pm, and barely made anything.
I offered to work evenings, 4-10pm ,including weekends.
With taxes, gas, cars wear and tear, I'm making $4-11/hour depending on the day.
He didn't give me a first paycheck after my 1stweek, , so it's been 3 weeks before I saw what I was making.
Not including water, Gatorade etc I had to buy to stay alive.
I'm done with them.
