A resume is absurdly formal for a $20/hour job.

I recently left engineering and today I tapped a job networking resource for veterans, looking for lower-paying work that meets my income needs, and I was genuinely surprised that I was expected to write a resume. I think at one point he wasn't sure I knew what a resume was. I apologized and told him I could write a resume, I just hadn't because it's silly to write a resume for a $20/hour job. And he really could not see eye to eye with me on this. If any ordinary person off the street can figure a job out, then it doesn't need a resume because no experience is needed. And if it takes skill or experience, it's not a $20/hour job. We parted amicably and I'm going to write his stupid resume, but like.. he's going to tell some other poor SOB tomorrow that you need a resume for…
