Throwaway for obvious reasons and I'm not going to dox anyone directly. If you connect the dots, that's on you.
I felt inclined to post here to show you how these corporations defend their executives while everyone else gets fucked.
Way up there in Kent CT there is a well known substance abuse treatment center ran by a husband (CEO) and wife (Vice President).
Currently, they are suspended from their positions (yet still sending/replying to emails and reposting Facebook stuff) due to multiple employees coming forward about months long sexual harassment claims. Both the CEO and his wife have been propositioning their employees for group sex via text messages and in person communications. Additionally, these two have created a culture at the company that supports that type of behavior. This is not speculation as I used to work there and have seen the texts messages from the CEO and his wife.
The Board of Directors has met three separate times as recently as last night regarding what the next steps are related to the CEO and his wife. They have not come to a decision on the issue as the CEO is somehow speaking to the Board via the company attorney making various threats. Yes, you heard that right, the CEO is using the company attorney to attempt to setup a defense for himself. The company is being billed to defend the CEO from the sexual harassment allegations. Huh?
The Board of Directors, and the Chairman of the Board seem to be trying to make a defense for them to stay with the company according to what I'm told. How is a company that prides itself on having a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment potentially give them an opportunity to stay? What about the victims? The entire company knows about the allegations at this point so it seems absurd to me that they may get to stay. It would take a lot of guts for the CEO and his wife to step their feet back into the buildings knowing that all of the employees are aware of the facts behind the suspension. But, narcissist's are narcissist's I guess.
I just wanted to vent here as I'm tired of seeing company executives get away with stuff regular employees would be fired on the spot for. It's time for a change. I did not expect for this to be a thing when I moved to Connecticut. Thought we were a little bit more progressive than that.
End rant.
