Hi guys
So basically after two days of hard preparations for my interview for a higher different team i got accepted and i was so happy because it’s finally a role I always loved and it pays more, very flexible and home office and all ,i was so hyped i was so god damn happy that I’m going to finally make it out of the pit of the nightshifts and weekends work
I’m in IT industry , was and still working in an IT job that’s do 24/7 shifts ,holidays,weekends it doesn’t matter you do them and after a year and half i really got exhausted from that especially nightshifts from 10 to 6 and i was looking for a different role within our company
And today the other Team manager was talking to my current manager to prepare my papers and all and discuss it
The other team manager was really impressed with my knowledge hell even called me clever and hardworking during the interview but anyhow, i got a message today from the other Team saying that my current manager refuses to let me fucking go!! And started making excuses and one of them was that i need to do 3 years in my current position before i can go somewhere else ,mind you this isn’t written anywhere in the contract or anything this is just the manager mentality
My manager basically was saying I don’t deserve this promotion since I didn’t suffer there enough
My company is a very big corporation and we were told from day one that seeking knowledge and progressing is highly rewarded and supported , but now my manager is refusing to let me go, took a vacation for 10 days and now the Other team Manager saying that they can’t wait this long and will try to talk to my manager again but they will do more interviews anyhow
So basically I’m out of the game ,I also can’t do shit and cant push my manager because I’m a foreigner and if i lose my job i get deported and lose years of hardwork snd money and honestly i just wanted to vent
This is really unfair and now i kinda wish I didn’t get hyped this much i feel like i just got punished for being motivated
I spent two days working and studying for my interview while doing my shift, had barely 3h of sleep in between this is such bullshit and a let down
