I work in IT as a tech and use a company car to drive to a client's business and fix whatever their IT issue is. It's my first year and I learned a lot and it's not a bad job except for huge things; unlivable wage and lack of proper training. I had to learn so much on my own because our company doesn't spend time or resources to train us properly, they even admitted it themselves. Also I'm the newest guy and get paid just a dollar and fifty cents above minimum wage where I live. BTW the tasks I am assigned do get done, and the client is happy, it's just that i call for help
My coworkers and boss joked I am always calling for help instead of trying to solve the issue myself. Not true, I try everything i know and then rather than give extra effort i call my experienced coworkers and have them try it. I feel the “If i work as if I'm worth $25/hr i'll get paid that much” is bullshit. They already hired a new IT tech getting paid that much that knows less than me but is friend's with the owner.
No, a lack of proper training and pay is making me feel comfortable getting laid off for a better worker who is willing to be paid peanuts.
