I have worked for a nonprofit hospital owned urgent care for 6 years. Never stopped going to work during the pandemic. I have always had positive annual reviews. I was the lead provider. I was most productive in 2021, second most productive in 2022.
They decided to shut down the clinic citing “infrastructure issues”. Heat hasn’t been working well in years would cost $100k or so to fix. Too expensive to pay for that and maintain CEO’s $6 million salary and $500k bonus.
They had to give a 90 day notice. So my employment would end 10/24/23.
Anyway, they told us they were creating positions at another location and we could apply and interview. I recruited 2 providers in the last year. Encouraged them to apply and they did. I did. It has been nearly 3 weeks and others have found out but I have not. I have 6 years more experience than one of my coworkers that got a job.
I am the one that has reported safety/staffing concerns.
I found out last night that the manager put 9/30/23 as my termination date. She entered it in the system the day before my interview. My termination date is 10/24/23.
Work doesn’t love you back, it’s more likely to stab you in the back/betrayal.
Meanwhile no one has contacted me on how they plan to pay out the rest of my contract.
