AITA for wanting to find a new job during my fmla break?

I am currently out on family medical leave for 3 months for the Birth of my 2nd son. I am employed by a donut shop, the owner has been incredibly nice and loves me. I was his first employee and helped establish the entire product line and everything. Then I stepped away for school to finish college, employer begged me to come back, gave me a $1,000 bonus, and raised hourly from $15 to $25. Then we added ice cream to our product lines. I got put in change of R&D and getting that sorted, for which I got a next gen video game console as a bonus. I loved the R&D work. Then we opened our 2nd store and that ended the R&D work as I got forced into production to keep up inventory for 2 primary locations and a couple of wholesale accounts. I was able to adapt…

I was able to adapt and keep up with initial demand and then the weather changed and the demand kind of dropped. Boss wanted to guarantee me 40 hours a week so I did ice cream and I could help with donut production. The problem was that He thought ice cream could cover my 40 hours so he hired out more staff. Now I don't have enough ice cream work and my donut slot has been filled by new hires. I occasionally get donut hours when there is a call out, and my boss has given me some computer spreadsheets to work on. But 40 hours every week is not really happening. Then my boss knew I was having this new child coming, knew for 9 months.

He said that he would hire on a ice cream assistant that I could train and be a manager of to cover my flma time and keep up with the high demand he thought we would have. Saying that once a assistant was hired. I'd get a raise in the form of health insurance (better than the state insurance we currently have). Well a lot of talk and nothing happened for 8 months. Then with a month to go I emailed him saying hey you didn't make the healthcare thing happen in time for this birth, can I get a meaningful hourly raise instead then? In which Boss gas lighted me saying I should have said something and not having the healthcare in time was my fault because I didn't explicitly tell him I wanted it for the birth of my son. Even though that was the clearly implied and referenced reason this was offered 8 months ago. So no healthcare and no raise, just blaming me for not keeping my boss on task. Now I am on leave and my son has been born. I got a congratulation text but again no raise or any reference to things promised. I should also mention that boss has been cool about fmla, he is even allowing me to take all my sick time right after my fmla runs out so I don't have to come back until after the new year.

I still have 2 months left of leave, I am thinking this is a good opportunity to find other work. I honestly don't know where to start looking and what job I want to do. But the thought of going back to the donut shop where I have gotten so good at my job I've kind of been pushed out of my role, and the failure to deliver on promises rubs me wrong. So AITA for wanting to leave my job while on fmla?

tldr: Boss has been good to me in the past, but has failed to delivery on promises recently. Aita if I want to find a new job while on combined fmla paid sick time?
