am i being dramatic?

hi i work at a waterpark and we work 7-9 hour shifts with either one or two break depending on what time you come in, it’s located in a really hot area and around this time of the year the temperatures get really high and humidity gets, the point i’m trying to get to is that two days ago we got an email saying we are no longer allowed to drink out of stainless steel cups, only see-through plastic cups. at first i thought it was an incident related to someone bringing an alcoholic beverage to the park while on the clock, this made sense to me, but what i was told by a coworker that what actually went down was that someone’s waterbottle fell down a slide and hit someone, i understand that is non accepted and if i was the costumer i probably would have been pissed as…

hi i work at a waterpark and we work 7-9 hour shifts with either one or two break depending on what time you come in, it’s located in a really hot area and around this time of the year the temperatures get really high and humidity gets, the point i’m trying to get to is that two days ago we got an email saying we are no longer allowed to drink out of stainless steel cups, only see-through plastic cups. at first i thought it was an incident related to someone bringing an alcoholic beverage to the park while on the clock, this made sense to me, but what i was told by a coworker that what actually went down was that someone’s waterbottle fell down a slide and hit someone, i understand that is non accepted and if i was the costumer i probably would have been pissed as well, however there’s over 170+ workers in my department and none of us are allowed to have insulated waterbottles anymore. this really upset me for various reasons, my water is going to be warm anytime past 10-11 am, i usually brought my hydroflask in a sling so i didn’t have to worry about incidents like that happening on my account and also getting ice in ur water or ur water refilled is such a hassle at my job. i’m thinking if they don’t allow us to bring insulated water bottles anymore i might just quit due to the long shifts, am i overreacting or do i have a valid reason to be upset?
TLTR: i work in the sun all day for 9 hours a day and my employer isn’t allowing insulated waterbottles anymore
