An interesting contract offer

Situation: 6 months contract with a medical device company (3 months down). Currently doing the work of 3 people as two other people have left. Doing a part time course in IT to get out of this industry for good. Offered a permanent contract with two clauses, I think they're trying to pull a fast one. Due to the nature of the business, you agree that you will be required to work additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your role. You will not be entitled to any additional salary or overtime in respect of any such additional hours of work as your salary takes account of this. If the Company at any time believes that your work is being adversely affected by the activity carried on in connection with an outside interest, permission may be withdrawn. I was told that the clauses are “Fairly standard”…

I was told that the clauses are “Fairly standard” but why the fuck would anyone agree to these terms? I've told them where to go and I'm happy to let my 6 month contract run it's course. If you want me to work late, fine. But pay me for my time – you're a multi million euro company. Not a charity.
