With the cut to federal funding I’ve realized there’s now another obstacle to me reentering the workforce. Finding childcare
I was fired when I gave birth (former employer is currently being investigated)
Even though I’ve been job hunting since January I realized this week I have another hoop to jump through on top of this BS market and that’s finding childcare. Which thanks to recent cuts by the federal government is now going to be even harder
2K care centers are anticipated to close in my state due to lack of funding
I’ve been worried about child care to start with but didn’t take any concrete steps because it’s this whole chicken and egg scenario
I see parents on that subreddit talk about how long wait times are and now I’m just at a loss of what to do
Because in order to pay for childcare I need a job, but in order to get a job I’ll need child care
I mean if I got paid enough I could hire a nanny but even that process takes time. I just don’t see myself waiting 2 years to take advantage of my states free preschool
I’m just so angry and anxious because my careers taking a hit for BS reasons
