Another Summer as a Warehouse Worker

Ho boy am I excited for all the hot, summer fun /s. I work in a warehouse in southern Ontario, ITAD work. So lifting 40-70 lbs servers all day and every so often something that's like 200+ lbs. Guess who doesn't have a/c? Guess who does? The after humidex temps are going to be above 40 degrees all week and peak at 45 (113 degrees Fahrenheit) and the best we have is a few household fans. I try to help by buying freezies and a handful of us pitch in to buy gatorade on the worst days (office folks haven't helped with this once), but goddamn it gets hot and humid. There us no law about max temps in my province, and while nobody has passed out yet, I'm the most likely to be first as several of the medications I have to take affect heat tolerance. Just quitting isn't…

Just quitting isn't an option. Taking extra breaks isn't an option because management is always micro-managing us. To the point where last year the GM complained about how much water we were drinking and how much it was going to cost ffs. Visible cooling gear would get you made fun of by management and I know that absolutely should not matter, I have huge amounts of social anxiety.

I'm not really looking for solutions, moreso just to vent I guess. I really hate the summer.
