So long story short I worked a horribly stressful 9-5 job as a senior research associate for a biotech company about 1.5 year ago. I came down with a severe case of covid and battled serious illness and have been recovering ever since. I'm finally getting ready to jump back into the work force but if possible would like to find something fully or mostly remote. I fear fully in person 9-5 is not for me anymore, as I still have daily moderate-severe headaches.
My qualifications are a BS in biochemistry and roughly 5 years post college experience working in laboratories (protein science and analytical chemistry).
My resume is REALLY good but very narrow/specialized and I never plan on stepping foot in a laboratory again (lots of triggers for migraines :(). So I can't help but feel stumped as wtf I even apply for. Kinda feels like my education is wasted if I have to start from scratch.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! I'm not really sure what the current job market is like right now and my priority is my personal health and happiness (WFH) over pleasing some corporate overlords.
