First the teamsters strike that landed UPS delivery persons something like $45 an hour starting pay, pension, better health insurance, air conditioned trucks. And they did it!
Now we’ve got the United Auto Workers strike inevitably on the horizon and I feel hopeful. The Supreme Court wouldn’t have passed these anti strike laws if corporations weren’t threatened. Employers don’t want unions because the work! Union member employees have better pay, more sick days, and is one of the few ways to still get a pension these days.
I’m just spit balling here so if anyone has details about this or is/was involved in the UAW or Teamsters strike I’d love to know what this is like on the inside.
