I’ve started to see lots of stories about the four day work week which apparently 20% of American employers already offer?? Not sure where I can find one of those jobs… but apparently even more employers are thinking they’re going to trial a four day work week. Really hope corporate has that one coming down the pipeline.
Personally, I work remotely most of the month now and find that I can just be more efficient with my work and get way more time back in my day. I live alone so if I finish up work by lunch I can get out and see friends in the afternoon or take an early flight with no worries. I feel like the whole needing to hit a certain number of hours a day (for 4 or 5 day workweeks) seems a bit antiquated.
I especially feel that way now when there are more and more ways to get work done faster as we enter this AI craze. I prefer to just find new ways to get my work done fast. Most of the time if I use ChatGPT and edit it a bit, no on really notices. But there are way more tools out there I’ve started trying out. Been using stuff like this to find some hacks.
I feel like we have an opportunity to work less here before the rest of the world catches up to how much AI can do for us. It “boosts worker productivity” but with remote work that increased productivity can serve us more time first (at least for now).
I say use AI to work less now until eventually our bosses realize it can replace us entirely lol
Curious what y’all think about this or if you have any other recs on how to get my work done that much faster
