Hi everyone, just curious about stories some might have about giving back as good as you got.
I had a nightmare boss, who, in the end, fired me. Everyone who worked with him seemed to dislike him, and he fired other people who wouldn't kiss the ring, or challenged or surpassed his experience level (think a former facilities manager for places like Google and SpaceX, asking questions my old manager didn't know how to answer during company-wide meetings).
I ended up writing about my and other's experiences to the founders a month later, really reflecting on whether or not it would come across as a worker with a grudge, or as someone who wants things to improve for the team they used to be a part of (the latter, which made it the cherry on the top), and lo and behold, a man who actively shooed me away with his hands during the conclusion of a performance review, who regularly avoided my work related emails and texts, whom I never expected to hear from again, called and texted me asking to 'just talk.' Just sent screenshots to the HR department saying I would not be dealing with it. Who knows what he'd even have to say. Can't imagine anything good, and I don't care enough to deal with continuing to document unsavory experiences to really seal the deal.
Good enough knowing the founders read my admittedly long, karen-esque rundown of his poor management skills, and their response involving a thanks and offer to provide recommendations wherever I land moving forward. People aside from the entry level associates finally know this man is a waste of money and resources.
