Asking for days off over a month in advance and being told no

Today I got asked for what days I may need off in august by my manager, I told her I would need the 17th and 18th off and was told no, I’d have to work those days because other people have holiday hours coming up and it would mean there was only 2 people in the store if I was to get it off and two in the back. Personal I think our very small and low stakes consignment store I work at for minimum wage would do fine for two days if we were one person under staffed. I wanted the days off for a rave a few cities over that my friends and I have been planning for awhile (I didn’t tell my manager that lol). I’m only 21 and turn the legal drinking age over the pandemic in Canada so I haven’t had a lot of time…

I’m only 21 and turn the legal drinking age over the pandemic in Canada so I haven’t had a lot of time to do things like raving! She said that that part of the schedule was locked in for awhile but this is the fist I’ve been asked about august dates or heard of this.

Should we I try to get the days off more or not risk it and call in sick those days while hoping they forget in time? What would you do.

I personally think it’s ridiculous to say I have to would a particular date without even asking me first. This has happened once before and half the time I ask for days off I get funny annoyed looks.
