I recently completely a 6 page document as part of an interview process (4th round of interview) in improving internal processes for the department of the company I’d potentially get hired for, It’s a relatively new tech company FYI. I wondered, is anyone ever paranoid that these companies are taking the ideas you present and not hiring you? A type of “information gathering” at your expense? I recently spoke to a friend of mine who works for a recruitment firm. She advised me some candidates are downright refusing to do this without asking for consultants fees or taking themselves out of the running for the role. Do you think more ppl are refusing this work as part of the process? Will it gain traction?

Before knowing enough about capitalism and the economy I'd watch “Do this before 30 and be a millionaire by 62” vids a lot, focusing on which retirement plan and index funds and stocks and blah blah. Today, I don't think it'll matter much. I still save money, i have an emergency fund and I don't YOLO my money but I don't worry too much about retirement because I don't think it's possible anyway. Pensions are gone, cost of living has skyrocketed and if you think about it, our capitalist system doesn't want people to stop working so it will make it impossible.

Away from society and industrialization, without any money.. just living a simple life. What is everyone's opinion on this?

Hi everyone so I have a problem and I don’t know what to do so I work two jobs and go to school as well so I work Monday through Friday at my other job and I work at bath and body works on the weekends and last week i put in my new schedule availability for 9am until 5pm for the weekends I work that way I have time to do my school work and I told my SM about it and she said she would reject it on Kronos and do it herself basically and she also wrote down my new availability and said she would change it .But then the week after i had to close and I told the other manager what was going on and she said that you have write the dates of when I’ll be available and I’m like then what’s the point…

I had to have open heart surgery that kept me out of work for three months. First day that I returned to work regional manager happened to be visiting. “Hey [douche-bags name] did you know that I was out for heart surgery?” “I knew, just did not fucking care!” was his response. Wow! what empathy. Karma to you sir. He was eventually fired, but a few years later.

My supervisor/ Executive Director has basically gone unhinged since late last month—which was around the time bargaining happened with our union. We’ve had a lot of turnover this year, due to their narcissistic personality, gaslighting, and discriminatory behaviour. This became more of a common occurrence against me early in the New Year. This month has been the hardest, not just for me, but other staff members that have been around for a while. Our E.D. is intentionally trying to get us out (to resign). I’ve stayed this entire time cause I don’t want any other Graphic Designer to land in my situation again until things get resolve, internally. I’m actually looking into filing a Human Rights complaint, as I’ve been discriminated against by my E.D. They’ve refused to give me more hours (I currently work PT, but was promised FT when signed) due to my physical health (chronic pain), and…
