Be careful when you are applying to jobs, some employers lie on their job description to trap employees and they reveal their true color after you start working their. No I have a termination on my work history forever and I don’t even know how it will impact my future employment opportunities especially in getting a government job For some reference it was a social work job and they tried to make me babysit

Changing Jobs Anxiety
I’ve been with an accounting firm for 13 years. It was my first job out of college, but I’ve grown to hate it. How have you guys dealt with the anxiety of changing jobs? I want to change jobs, but keep thinking the devil I know may be better than the one I don’t.
I feel left out :/
Okay, so I have a job I really like. The pay is AWFUL though. Ummm, I needed a degree to obtain this job, so I guess it’s good in that sense and if you’re someone who enjoys helping out, you’re going to like your nonprofit job. Anyway, the issue is I feel left out. They all went to some event tonight. During the staff meeting I expressed a clear interest in attending. Anyway, it was tonight. By 10:30, 3rd shift was there. One guy was surprised I wasn’t at the event (I didn’t know it was tonight and someone else asked me how it was … lol I didn’t get invited) .-. I’ve been working at this company since January 17th. My manager said she was going to this event Sunday. I’m not sure if she lied or had to go a separate day than everyone else. The manager of…
Feeling bad leaving my current employers
So a very summed up version of my story: I’ve been working at a memory care facility for 6 months now, getting paid smth like 16.50/hr and working 25/30 hr weeks, no benefits. . It’s been a good job but recently my aunt referred me to the post office and I got hired, base wage of 19.75/hr with guaranteed raises each year, health benefits, PTO, etc etc. Even though I’m gonna be making lots more and have more consistent hours and work full time I can’t help feeling bad for leaving my current place and I also feel bad for my employer bc he is gonna have a hell of a time replacing me (I’m punctual, very efficient, and also a better cook and cleaner than 99% of my coworkers.) he’s told me multiple times that he’s gonna miss me and that I’m his most reliable employee. He’s a good…
How about not
I work with children and I love it
We got a new whiteboard at work. Some manager wrote on it; “Give a positive attitude to your coworkers. Be nice or go home!” The next day (Friday) it has been changed to “Give attitude to your coworkers. Be nice—go home!” Management didn't see it till Monday. Now it just says “BE NICE!!”
I figured the people that follow this group would be the perfect people to ask this question of. I have been given a job to repair a component that has not worked for 10 years (!) and was already trouble-shot and reported and documented by previous crews. But no parts are available. I told my supervisor that all I can do is maybe lay hands on it and offer thoughts and prayers. Now I gotta make an entry on the report. Is there a way to say the above in “professional business speak”?
My (now ex) Boss Won’t Leave Me Alone
Hey, everyone. I (23F) quit my job yesterday after months of taking abuse from management, late tip outs (restaurants in my city usually pool their servers tips together), and terrible hours. I am not somebody who believes that a two week notice is necessary, so I sent my boss (late 30s,F) a message (the only way we can contact her) that I thought was a lot kinder than it could have been. Just said that tips have been late more often than not and I need stability, so I’m leaving. I was pretty clear in my text that it was not a two week notice. Since yesterday morning, she’s sent me a barrage of texts about my lack of responsibility, how I’ve let her down, how she’s done so much for me (I was off in August on stress leave). They are all incredibly nasty, and if I were to…
What to do when you hit breaking point
So I’ve finally been pushed and want to call it quits. I work for a NFP. My boss is the CEO and has a dual role as a Director in another part of the company. The politics of the environment we work in is very tricky due to industry pressures The job however has great WFH benefits and no commute My Boss: – has a demanding and complicated job that often pulls them away from their family – has been known to scream and yell when something goes wrong – shows up late and will not say good morning when they walk past everyone’s desks – often works until midnight every night and on weekends – has highly unpredictable moods and is very moody and throws tantrums – is very snakey and cuts costs at the detriment of the rest of us – deliberately underpays to save money – highly…
