Jiu-Jitsu 4 Everyone!

I fully understand everyone here is anti-capitalist, and I agree. Capitalism creates two classes of people forced to work together with 2 completely separate goals. If there is one change I think would equalize the world it would be the abolition of capital and income earning private property. Just want to get a feel for where the work angst is coming from and maybe offer an alternative that is hard to talk about in America since discussions about it devolved into “free child care and affordable medicine is socialism!” (spoiler, that's not what socialism is at all) To clarify my term so everyone understands. We live under free market capitalism now. An owner owns the land, building, machinery. They hire employees to work on that land or in that building operating the machines making something that will be sold for a profit. Let's say each worker on average makes $50k…
Today is the original date of my contract end date, but 6 weeks ago my workplace agreed to extend my contract. Today I find I’m locked out of the building, my email and my work computer so I’m quite quitting and won’t be getting any work done for them today. Fuck them. If they’re going to set up their systems to treat me as if I’m no longer an employee why should I act like one? If their Admin and IT staff are incompetent why should I be?
It was the strangest thing, now ill admit that I did sleep here and there, maybe an hour on my “lunch” , maybe an extra hour if no pings or tickets came in but always made sure to get tickets done as they came in. But one night , I’m sitting in my cubicle, most of the time in the low light as office lighting is insanely bright so i would keep half the lights off so my cubicle was fairly dim. Im not sleeping luckily but hear someone walking in the hall near me and freaked out since i was always the only one on nightshift until 6 or 7am, my boss pops his head in and was like uhhh hi? Dude had nothing better to do than wake up at 2am to come make sure a nightshift employee was actually working. He could look at our ticket timestamps…

Some places are just plain stupid
Made a reimbursement claim for transport costs only to be questioned by the finance department why it’s late despite giving them the receipts and having approval from my manager. They were never explicit with their deadlines and it was always approved the moment you provided a receipt. Some companies are just doomed to fail. So glad I got out of the hellhole.
Dear car company strikers:
The strike is really just starting to be affecting us at work now. We (my place of work, car part injection molding) are only running half-cavities because we are down to the partial jobs (not getting any new jobs either, with the strike) that are already almost done. We might not work next week. We aren't working overtime anymore, additionally. (Personally, that's fine with me. Desirable even. I've been working mandatory 7-days a week for nine months.) Anyway, good job. Go strikers! You're starting to affect the fringe companies! So keep it up! It won't be long now before the car companies start thinking about giving in, I think. They are talking about shutdowns and taking “volunteer layoffs” and not very happy at all. I'm in full support of you. Keep your heads high. Dunno if this is the appropriate reddit. But I figured a majority might be in here.
It’s not worth it
Trust me, if work is making you cry, keeping you up at night, if you're thinking about work all the time, it is not worth it and you deserve better. I stayed in my old job so much longer than I should have and I didn't deserve to go through that shit! I've been in my “new” job for a year and it's so much better, and even when I get the stray thought about moving on, I feel exhausted at the mere prospect of jobhunting and worry that the culture of any new place would be worse than my current one and I'd be going “backwards”. Bad jobs are traumatic, you spend 1/3 to 1/2 of your life with these people, at these workplaces, they affect you just as much as anything in your personal life. I was walking home from work crying on the phone to my parents,…
Three more days left
I put my 2 weeks in last week at this God forsaken place that's been the worst job I've ever had. I've never had a job where I've been reprimanded for speaking to a coworker before with almost the same pay as a fast good employee (my old job). But it's all over in 3 days now I just have to get through it with very little work and no one to talk to which sucks real hard. But I'll be at a job that's a lot better than this one with a lot better pay so good things are coming my way!
