I currently have a case open with the National Labor Relations Board. The largest corporation in the world of its type retaliated against me for engaging in a protected activity when I brought up issues regarding workplace conditions. My termination was furthermore not done in accordance with company policy. I have spent more than a year and a half disputing this as of this writing. I have created this profile I am posting from to document and share with the world what was done to me and my colleagues. More to come there is for this is only the beginning.

Healing from a toxic job
I had a toxic job over a year ago, and I lasted maybe 6 months. I was bullied and harassed at that job. I would hear my coworkers making fun of me daily. It was awful, and I would hear things for half of my day. My manager there was crazy he would come up behind me and clap and tell me to hurry up. Or scream at me. The weirdest, he would ask me trivia questions and laugh when I didn't know the answer. I started just crying just in the bathroom or just straight up in front of people. I was throwing up on my way to work. I got a new job very quickly, and my new coworkers, I think, saved my life there. Crazy but everyone was kind and helpful. My managers weren't perfect, but they were decent people. I will always be thankful to those…
is my employer trying to screw me over?
alright so for labor law context, i live in MN. I’ve been working at this company for 2 years (food service), we are under a parent company that operates multiple different stores in malls. Now originally I started at just one of the stores, around holidays last year my hours were cut and i was given the option to work at a different store in the same mall and be cross-trained on an entirely different thing (still food service). I ended up staying there and now i do both stores every week. Well about a month ago, i got a promotion at the 2nd store, i’m the ASM and i got a raise for it as well. Since both stores are owned by the same parent company we were paid through the same provider and i would get 2 checks every pay period. 2 Weeks ago, the company changed our…
Since many of those employees never worked at the office but were 100% remote when hired, this is not really RTO. This is “how to have a layoff without announcing we're having a layoff”. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/17/roblox-tells-employees-they-have-to-come-to-office-three-days-a-week.html Roblox CEO David Baszucki detailed the company’s return-to-office plans on Tuesday, which will force remote workers to relocate. Those who opt not to go to the office from Tuesday through Thursday can take a severance package. The announcement marks an about-face for Roblox, which told employees in May of 2022 that they could choose to “primarily work remotely.”
Help me realize my job is not my life.
I am in my 40’s and I’ve spent 20 years in my career. I’ve worked my way up to a Director position and I make really good money. I work in pharma and my base is $230,000 a year, not including long term incentives and bonus. I know it seems like this is a good problem to have, but I hate my job. My company is a freaking shit show. My soul is slowly dying. There Is restructuring at least every month and I feel like spinning my wheels. My stress level is through the roof because I care too much and I don’t feel like I’m doing meaningful work. My husband has a respectable job but I make over 3 times what he does and we have two kids who are going to college soon. Luckily he will have a pension at some point. I feel like I can’t…
My sup is trying to make me quit.
It started about 6-9 months ago. I work for a call center and everything is based on stats, but it is so skewed to fail. I blame theetric that is used. Which asked if they would recommend my company. It's not even based on my service. On top of that, it is scored 1-10. 10 being they would recommend company. Goal is to get 70% in this stat. 1 thru 7 = -100 (negative 100) 8 = 0 (zero) 9 thru 10 = 100 Then 5 more a Stats {Working with agent} {Was agent nice} {Did agent solve your problem} {Was agent easy to talk to} {Was agent helpful } All of these are based on my service. But all my sup and sup manager care about is the first question. So I can get like two 100s and a 1thru 7 (-100) would erase that. Ok well of course…
I’ve had a lot of really awful bosses. One who would hire completely useless team members because he was attracted to them. One who I still have nightmares about and wake up in a cold sweat even though it’s been four years. But my most recent boss was just an out of touch jackass. I’d have to listen to him talk about his luxurious Mediterranean cruises that cost more than I made in a year, he questioned everything I did, micromanaged me… it was rough. But I still think about when I sat down with him to tell him I could no longer afford to drive to work every day and needed to work hybrid (gas had just jumped to $5/gallon). He told me that their were nuances to my job that couldn’t be done from home (I had just returned to the office after a year of being fully…
Stuck In A Toxic Job – Help !
Hi all , any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. In 2019 , no less than 2 days after graduating high school , I began working at my fathers construction company ( 5 staff members ) to occupy my time and earn some money over the break whilst I made up my mind about going to university. Over the summer I had a blast as I was working with a close family friend and my older brother M27. Working 14-21 days in a row with only 1 day off before picking it back up again didn’t bother me then. Fast forward a few years and I am now in my 2nd last year of my university studies ( double bachelors degree of science in I.T majoring in business information systems and bachelor of business majoring in international business ) , my friend and brother have been gone for 2…
This is a fresh story. The year 2022, I leave a low paying tech consultant role for a 35% pay hike and a better job title of DevOps engineer. I join a team where the team lead is the MD of the firm. He made it clear pretty soon that he would not be making me or my teammate (who had been working there for 1 year at that point) a team lead. Which is fine by me, since I took this job up for the pay hike. Now my new pay is just above the average salary in the field, not a great pay but a decent one. MD used a be a developer himself, so he understands tech jargon. He’s also impressed with all my new initiatives for implementing Security in our cloud services. I enjoyed working at this firm for the first 2 months. Then there is…
Feeling stressed and guilt tripped
Situation: We are a small, independent green grocers with 5 members of staff. The boss is about to have a baby, but she only hired a PT member of staff to replace her FT hours. Me and another young member have staff have pretty much split the FT between us. 3rd member of staff has young kids and 99% time says no to any overtime. The other FT member of staff has just been off ill as she was hospitalised with a chest infection. So now the boss expects us to pick up all the overtime for a full time position, when none of us want over time and another is unwell at the moment. It's just making me so frustrated because I feel guilty and angry. I don't want more hours for personal, and tax reasons. I also have a small pet sitting business which I hope can be…
