I'm not applying for sh*ts and giggles. I read the qualifications, both preferred and required and still applied. Obviously, I need a job. This is pissing me off!

Does my employer have to provide a seat?
I got a note from my doctor stating I need to sit down periodically during my shift. HR lady says I have to bring my own. Do they have to provide me with accommodation?
Saying no to a request for a raise sucks
Had a direct report ask for a raise. I agree with them and tried to fight for him but was basically ignored with my requests so I had to deliver the news. I know what everyone makes. It’s very shitty corporate would rather risk losing a long term employee only to probably have to pay a new hire more than what the salary would have been if we gave the guy a raise. Fuck corporate.
WWYD – PTO while invisible
I’m pretty certain my boss thinks he laid me off when a bunch of other coworkers were laid off 1 & 2 months ago. None of the work I do is visible to him or his bosses, we don’t clock in/out, and I’m rapidly running out of useful tasks. I have a cruise coming up in mid-October, which I would’ve submitted to our PTO system already, but I was waiting to be laid off and now it feels a bit late. Usually, he approves PTO after the fact, when that time period’s payroll comes around. If I put in the request now, I fear he’ll see I’m still here and immediately let me go. With my luck, if I say nothing, I’ll come back to missed messages and be fired instead of laid off with severance. Maybe this will be a moot point and someone will respond to one of…
What 4 hours of USA min wage gets you!
This. Just 8 rolls of paper towels.
You will never regret establishing boundaries at work. Never feel like you have to be a push over/ people pleasers. Develop the mindset of a lion. I feel so great to have stood up for myself.
I live and work in the US, in the Tri state area (PA, NJ, NY). I've been working security for about 3 years and started with a new company December 2022. It was shit pay, and I started part time but eventually got a full time position. I was told it was a union job with benefits. Bet! Fastforward to August 2023. I was removed from my job post without a reason. When I asked my manager he told me flat out that the manager of the building I worked, who hates my guts, called and had me removed and never even said why. I got a few random shifts over the next few weeks but eventually the company ghosted me. I found out last night that my unemployment claim is being investigated and I'm being audited because my employer told them that my hours were never reduced. And then…
TLDR: Company has been acting shady with ghosting employees and interviewees, no pay raises but major increases in responsibilities, CEO is a boomer obsessed with AI and wants to use AI to eliminate my entire team within 2 years or less. Sorry in advance if this is too long, I just really need to hear other perspectives on this: I work for a health tech company producing medical content for frontline healthcare workers. This includes onboarding materials, at-the-minute reminders, annual competencies, equipment orientations, etc. I have mostly enjoyed the work that I do and it feels good to know that maybe somewhere down the line, something I worked on truly helped someone, whether it was a nurse or a patient. However, the company has been making questionable moves since I started. I was initially offered a full-time job with a decent salary, but turned it down for a better…
