I have been working at my job for 3 years and I do our marcom stack. Things is, the rest of our team of 10 people (including my boss) have basically stopped working so I have nothing to communicate or market or really do because no one wants to work on a project even if I brought it up in a conversation. We have another business unit that does work *how we still make money) but they're basically MIA 24/7 and don't communicate with our team. I'm so bored and have gotten no professional help in my role outside of what I learn on my own. Going to take time off to travel while I am young then look for a new job. This post is really a rant but maybe you can relate?

Hello everyone. My boss called me today and said if I can’t make it in on a Saturdays then I’m going to have to kiss my job goodbye. Backstory: I’ve taken the bus for years. A couple years ago I moved to a development that was slightly out of the way, not knowing the bus wouldn’t run on the weekends from this area, but we really needed the apartment urgently at the time. It wasn’t an issue because I had my then girlfriend to drop me off/pick me up, and I would also take help from my coworker. I’m no longer in said relationship and they decided to fire my coworker along with many others due to company restructures. I use to work for a ferry company. No names will be said because the people with are good people that i lived with. I was left alone, so I went to work. I decided to clean the seats to start (I have ADHD). One of the most important things you need to know is ferry seats get bolted close to the ground. I was on the ground to see if gum from the previous year people were sticking there. I got called into the office and was being terminated. Apparently the coworker who skipped orientation, came after easter(we were to open in two weeks after this) and was preying upon young girls that worked there, was spying on us and he didn't like me because I was an eagle scout. No joke. He also had me written up for taking bathroom breaks too often(I had ibs) and sitting down…

Just out of nowhere it is decided that mortgages, student/personal and credit loans all got raised by a few hundreds per month. That's our hard earned cash disappearing from our accounts because it was deemed that we have too much of it, we should have the bare minimum to keep slaving away serving the elites and to keep the economy going. why no one figured a better way?

I can't be a mechanic anymore. The work load to make hours as flat rate is exhausting. I'm here for 10 hours a day and I'm lucky if I make half that. According to the old guys it wasn't this hard to make over 10. They say it used to be 3 cars a day would net you over 10. Now I'm doing 6 a day and not making even 8 most days. I'd have to be on drugs to make these times. I'm tired I'm looking elsewhere. A new trade one where I won't have to buy all my own tools. I've got more the 15k in tools and I still don't have all what I need. I can't keep this up for scraps. Fuck Mopar and fuck jeeps. Don't buy them there trash from the get go. I realized that my employer of about 6 months was doing a bunch of sketchy shit: illegal employment contracts, job misclassification to avoid paying taxes, underpaying etc. I’ll also note that it very much seems like purposeful sketchiness and law breaking because they’ve been really avoidant on things to do with pay and job. I emailed my boss at the end of the day to schedule a few minutes the following day to talk about the pay stubs I had asked for that they never provided and to ask him some questions about pay. Spent the night looking into laws and standards to be prepared going into the conversation. Went to log into work this morning and my login in was blocked. Got a call the minute work started from said boss telling me I’m being fired. Due to ‘performance issues’. I’ve never had performance issues, and he couldn’t pinpoint…

Was in a one on one with my boss today and I expressed a little bit of frustration at how we are expected to meet new goals in content, SEO, Web traffic and conversion when we operate as a skeleton crew as it is and how we are expected to meet very lofty goals that not only get more difficult every week but add on every week. My boss said essentially in a nice way to me that the VP of our department is so incompetent that he expects the world on a shoestring budget and all of his expectations/goals to be achieved YESTERDAY. He said to “stop using common sense” and basically all logical reasoning and justification has to be thrown out the door, and that we essentially need to hang on by our fingernails and do as much as possible without the extra staff that we were promised.…

Now, 8 hour shifts have become 12 hour shifts. People are told they'll get disciplined for calling out. I don't care, I'm not gonna work 2 weeks straight. Other coworkers are saying the same thing, and I don't blame them and I know they're not blowing smoke. They'll do it, and people are calling out anyway. Send in the national guard, why can't we use them?
