https://fortune.com/2023/09/15/salesforce-ceo-marc-benioff-hiring-boomerang-employees-layoffs/amp/ Salesforce is hiring (again) after laying off about 10% of its staff earlier this year—and its former workers are being encouraged to apply to the company’s 3,300 new roles across sales, engineering, and data cloud. … Now, attracting boomerangs is a new success metric for the company with Benioff even outlining that his tactic to poaching former staff has so far included hosting an “alumni event for people who are employed in other companies to say—it’s okay, come back.” How many smooth brains would return to the place that laid you off?

Does anyone else hate this? What is the purpose of uploading my resume if they are gonna make me answer all these questions? Job applications already feel like a waste of time and they know that they are gonna have to teach you what you need to do anyways. Also are they dumb enough to not realize that everyone is just answer based on what the employer wants to hear and not the truth. Like what does my ambition have to do with anything? Just give me the damn job ambition is to what keeps me there, money is
When is it time to quit?
I’ve been working in this kitchen for over 6 months now. Been asking for a raise and just getting brushed off now I’m told I’ll get a $1 bump but not clear when. My paychecks have been so bad for how hard I work and everyone quitting made my work load triple. I am very experience and take pride in my work. My skills are almost better than the lead chef/my boss and they constantly belittle me telling me I didn’t earn a title and that they did. I’ve been ready to quit for months but for some reason just can’t and I’m a little worried how I’m going to pay my bills. The ceo of the company comes in and yells at us constantly and it just been awful working there.
Just started a new job… any tips?
It’s been a while since i’ve moved jobs and am curious what your alls advice is, started at a retail store

I built and manage a TV station and make $17.10/hr. Yeah, I know my pay is absurdly low for my line of work, but I have a reason for staying despite the pay. I was a salaried employee for a bit earning around 35k/yr. I went through something devastating in my life and could not come to work for a few weeks. They agreed to keep me on and said to come back when I was ready. They're typically pretty great people. When I got back, I told them I don't think I can manage a 40-hour work week anymore due to what happened and they understood, so they put me back to an hourly wage. They told me I'd earn $17.10 “because that was close to what you were making before.” Turns out $17.10 x 40 is $684, the minimum a person has to make in my state to…
Come in Sick, No Matter What
Picture says it all. I’m in disbelief.
Two weeks notice tomm.
Could use some words of encouragement as tomorrow I will be giving my notice after 20 years with the company. I honestly just can’t handle the retail pharmacy toxic work environment anymore. My boss and I are close but I have no idea how she is going to handle this information. I am the one she relies on for almost everything. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to get the words out to tell her I’m done but I know deep in my heart it’s something that has to be done. I stand at work sick to my stomach thinking that this can’t be all my life is meant to be. So yeah, advice and hype appreciated.
