So a day or so ago my managers manager shows up and decided I spend to much time outside on midnights. I won't argue it was more than corporate would want but my direct manager was fine with it as long as I got my work done. (I did) Now on the phone they said I wasn't getting my PTO and most of my Google attempts have failed me. Anyone here work with them before and have a copy of the handbook where they'd have to put we don't get PTO when we are fired cause if it's not in there I'll be the most annoying bitch out there to get my money if I'm owed it.

Phone Numbers given out
My employer put a list of employee phone numbers on a list and posted it. Is this legal? I've been told by several people they're not allowed to
So I have no idea what happened and I’m trying to wrap my head around this. I went on an interview for a job that was perfect for me. I could do it and do it well. It went great. They requested a second interview with the CFO and that went great as well. Every question he had I could answer and it was clear that I knew what I was talking about. They did a background check and had me provide references which they checked on. All great. Then I get a text message that they want me to meet with HR over zoom. I say absolutely, tell me the time. And that’s it. No responses to emails, no return phone calls. I’m just floored because I thought everything was great and it was all but a done deal. We hadn’t even talked about salary but what I wanted…
I am dealing with going into a clinical environment that deals with compressed air. To make a long story short, management has had a pattern of ever since I got hired, acting like my expertise and considerations to my working environment/ability to do stuff in it is a “figure it out yourself” ordeal. Which led to a situation yesterday of me calling out an absurdly dangerous and unacceptable condition that the air compressor had been running without service or maintenance for about a week, and in a state that it should literally NEVER be in. What's my reward for catching this objectively dangerous, very serious oversight in training, for probably saving our lives from imminent fire and/or explosion? For bringing it to management attention? Treating me like an idiot that should have known better about the air compressor as if I wasn't the one that read the manual that got…
Got laid off out of nowhere
At the beginning of the month I was working at a “stable” company/account and then out of nowhere I was told our contract renewal was underbid, and as a result the account would be folding at the end of August. We were essentially told to go fuck ourselves and good luck, regardless of experience. To make matters worse, any positions that DID open over the last month were pre-selected. As in, they will open the position publicly but realistically they've already selected who they want, so it's all for show/legal reasons. It's always been like this at this company, and others. Mind you, of course, this is a “family company who believe in hard work and positive culture”. Yea, ok. Know your worth people. You don't owe your employers anything.
I worked for a service company as the only office employee aside from the newly hired general manager (GM). I eventually realized that the GM was delegating all their work to myself. I was taking on every customer complaint, handling everything payment issue, even correcting the misspellings of names in our system because my GM told me they are too busy to click the edit button and change a lowercase letter to an uppercase. When I say I was handling everything customer related, I mean everything. I was incredible at my job out of necessity because I was the only one doing anything of significance for them. Any of my peers would tell you this without daily. I was a HUGE asset to this company and they did not care. The issue is, I only had so much ability/power in my position to realistically be able to handle issues after…

How to deal with a bad boss?
Hello I hope this is the right place to discuss this. I've recently started a new service job. I'd rather not provide too many details since my boss (let's call him Gary) is active on Reddit. Initially, things were okay – Gary seemed a bit odd but was generally friendly. However, things took a strange turn. He's very insistent about us following company policies but willfully ignores rules himself. He starts off polite with customers, but his behavior deteriorates over time. I've witnessed him being rude and even yelling at clients. I've had to apologize for him more than once. He creates random rules during arguments, whether with customers or employees. He always appears busy, but when I clock in after him, none of his assigned tasks are done, so I end up doing double the work.He often shares exaggerated stories about his past, claiming he could've been a surgeon…
