I'm mainly writing because I just quit and dont know if I should try to take action against this company I worked for… I want to because they treat their workers like shit and I have experienced and witnessed countless amounts of illegal activity, but I'm not sure if I can because I have no hard evidence… and based on my experience with the managers, it probably would go nowhere anyway… My job requires a resignation form that gets sent to the regional manager and it has a comment section. They denied me the resignation form multiple times because I “didn't give significant notice” but I am legally allowed to terminate employment at any time for any reason and I had already agreed to work the all shifts they had scheduled me before the date of resignation… To add to this, a close excoworker of mine did the same thing…

I work for a small retail company that is family owned and only has a few storefront locations. I was hired as a sales associate which is a very basic job, my job description is to help customers/ sell product, operate the register and POS, and do stocking and stuff like that. After a few months my manager started training me to do more manager level things like processing and receiving orders, placing orders, inventory, marketing and networking efforts and so on. There is an assistant manager position available and she was sort of pushing me into that role but the decision to promote me would have to come from the owner of the company. I was told that in order to be promoted I had to improve my personal sales numbers. So basically for the last few months I have been doing everything that the assistant manager would do,…

I was wondering why I kept seeing ads on YouTube telling me how great the plant is Stuarts Draft was. So, I googled it and lo and behold, the employees are attempting to unionize. I mean, it's like every ad on every video I try to watch on YouTube. I didn't even know they had a Hershey's plant down there and now the only thing on my hearing is about how great they've been for the last 40 years. Highly suspect.
it’s the highlighting for me
At two separate jobs, I faced little to no training and was then expected to perform full job duties and sometimes more. My most recent example is that I was hired by a wireless phone provider. When I was hired I was provided with offline modules to complete, but wasn't given information on when to have any of it completed by, if it was okay to start immediately, or even who my contacts were in the company. Out of fear, I had completed nearly all of the modules before my first day of work. I was then instructed for approximately 20 hours over live webinars in a group setting with PowerPoint presentations. I was then sent to work in the stores, where I was supposed to receive hands on training. The store manager hasn't sat side-by-side with me in any capacity, and due to it being a slow time for…
So I ran into our office lead, who barked at me- You need to smile more! Later I explained that our company has a mask mandate that I’ve followed to the tee. I’ve been in a mask 100% of the time except to eat or drink, how can anyone even say I’m not smiling when pretty much no one has even seen my full face. She doubled down and became insistent saying kind of saltily- Oh, we know! We can see if your eyes or cheeks are raised. Ok whatever. After giving it much further thought, I realized I have only even seen this woman 4-5 times in person, each time in a mask, for brief 3 min period- not nearly enough for this assessment to actually be coming from her Later on I’m sitting at my desk and overhear a convo from the male team lead who sits nearby…
So I posted a short reddit post about a salon I used to work at on a reddit page for the city I lived in. All it said was “Don’t give your money to such and such- the owner is a nightmare and the employees are walked all over on” a coworker of mine who still currently worked there (I had just moved across the country and quit my job there a couple weeks before) commented on it saying a lot more details into why the work environment was so toxic and why the owner should lose her business license. Come to find out, the owner tracked our IP addresses, fired my co worker and is sending us both Cease and Desists in the mail. Is this bad? I’m assuming it just means to stop posting about her publicly which doesn’t seem fair since anyone can essentially write a bad…
