I just quit my store on Friday after 4 years working there, the past 2 years being 6 days a week without fail. Couldn't handle my co-workers anymore, especially one that was hired on maybe 5 months ago that assumed the role of a manager (but not really a manager) and was just such a terrible control freak that she managed to get 4 people (including myself) to leave the store. I warned my GM before he hired her I knew this was going to happen, he didn't listen to me and tried to get me to stick it out but I couldn't any longer. Only 1 person reached out to me to say his goodbyes, which was nice but still… pretty upset that after so long working there, diligently and honorably, that only one person cared enough to talk to me afterwards. Never forget, they don't care about you,…

Basically the title. I see all the time that people are posting about better wages, health insurance etc. it seems like people would rather be comfortable, well-treated wage slaves than actually trying to get rid of as many pointless jobs as possible.
During the height of the pandemic I noticed that some bosses started using Whatsapp Groups or direct 1 to 1 messaging as a way of keeping in touch as we worked from home. Is it just me or is this very wrong on many levels if: 1) it's your personal number 2) work-related messages come in after working hours 3) there is no email thread to back up requests or conversations via the whatsapp group or 1 to 1 messaging. I've mentioned this to other people but they say I'm being anti-social. I just don't believe that my whatsapp account should be polluted with work messages, we have Slack, Teams, or whatever other app for that. The idea of texting your family in Whatsapp and seeing a work message come in on the same platform, and the sender of the work message can see that you're online whenever you open…
I work part-time and I worry because I don’t want it interfering with my school or days off when I make plans. There have also been some other red flags but I’m just curious on this one!
Thanks Kim
So I went into work and got 5 other people sick and now they can't open. And they're still firing me for coming into work sick and shutting the business down. Oh well
