Not a whole lot that I can see being done about it now but my previous employer told a company that I already had a job offer from, that I'm unreliable and that I call out regularly which ended up losing me the new job. I'm moving cities and because of this I'm now scrambling to find a job that pays enough to support my family. I'm having to move in with my parents and have my family (2 adults, 2 kids and a baby) sleep in their living room. I've already talked to an attorney and they basically told me I can't do anything about it. This all from a job that I worked 60 hours a week at, was lied to about my pay structure when I was hired, the owner talked down to me and acted like I was stupid even though his revenue doubled with me…

Buckminster Fuller sums it up nicely
“We should do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living. It is a fact today that one in ten thousand of us can make a technological breakthrough capable of supporting all the rest. The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living. We keep inventing jobs because of this false idea that everybody has to be employed at some kind of drudgery because, according to Malthusian Darwinian theory he must justify his right to exist. So we have inspectors of inspectors and people making instruments for inspectors to inspect inspectors. The true business of people should be to go back to school and think about whatever it was they were thinking about before somebody came along and told them they had to earn a living.” –Buckminster Fuller

Training for my job
Been depressed for this sole reason all day because I’ve tried everything and no one would give me my fucking pay. I’ve been working for a month after a very long recruiting process, I came to an empty office and I don’t yet have a PC, laptop or company email/access but yeah they made sure to set up the attendance tracking for me. What should I do? I made sure to go to every head of something and show them that I’m not happy and that I’ve endured everything from them and went with them through that whole recruiting process but not getting my pay is way outta line. Why I didn’t get it you ask? Well, the hr personnel “forgot” to register me as an employee. That’s one of the largest fucking institutions in my country they replied with “apparently you have no experience with large institutions so we…
I just need somewhere to vent because my heart is so sad. I’m nearly done with my first year in college to be an elementary school teacher. I work with kids a lot and they deserve so much. I just wanted to make a difference in their life. But with gas prices, rent, groceries, just living being so expensive in America, it’s looking like I’ll have to drop out of school. Can’t afford to work part time, can’t work full time and still make it to all my classes. Once I graduate, I’ll make shit money and just owe the government thousands of dollars in interest alone for school loans. I’m so sick and tired of this. I just wanted to help kids who need it.
My girlfriend's company (big bank in Canada) gives her department one 'wellness day' per year to use however they want. She had planned to take my birthday off in July so we could hang out together. Her manager, 2 weeks after she booked it off, said that that day was actually taken my someone else. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of a mental day? Wtf is wrong with these companies
