What do you think about them making useless merch and other wasteful things in order to make money for a concert.

I live in Southeast Texas and have been trying to get a call center job. But, on almost every application they say I must speak both English and Spanish. Mind you, this isn't an application for a bilingual CSR branch, this is for the main CSR trunk. I understand where I live there is a large hispanic population. But, I shouldn't be penalized for only knowing English. Furthermore, this seems like it's just a way to get bilingual reps without having to pay them a shift differential (which is common for bilingual reps in a call center environment.) I'm okay not making that extra money per hour since I can only take English speaking calls. But, don't shut me out entirely from even applying for the position.
Answers like “I just want a decent life “I want to end world hungry” are useless. I want clear proposals, things you guys want to implement. I want to know the means, not the goal. Talk as if you were the boss of the world.
What’s your works policy for PTO accrual
Here is a recent offering from a company Vacation: 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 weeks after 10 years. Sick/Personal PTO: 3 days per calendar year once an employee has completed 2 years of service.
Hello, I just wanted to rant and maybe get some peoples opinions. I have been driving for Instacart being my own boss delivering groceries alone for the past year and a half while also being a full-time student. I family security job as a teaching assistant. As I start the process of getting anything done (tb shot, background check, etc.) I realize that this is making me so anxious having a boss and having to Deal with all these super super strict corporate guidelines that seems robotic. I don’t know why the idea of working again makes me so anxious because I’ve had real jobs before. My anxiety with people has gone so much worse over the past few years and I really wish that I didn’t have to work. I didn’t asked to be alive and deal w this.
just got layoff at my contract position
I've been working for this company for about 8 months and I was just told by my friend in the company that I'm going to get an email tomorrow telling me I'm let go, they have fired every good employee and has kept all the bad untrained employees. I feel absolutely crushed, a lot of people liked me and I got promoted twice as a contractor and trained people and yet I still got let go, I've been through at least 4 separate huge layoffs due to not having enough work (I work in a COVID lab) I've been nothing but loyal and good to this company to just be treated like I'm just a number. Apparently the people who decide who gets layoff doesn't even ask the managers or anyone who knows who's good at their job. I'm just lost for words right now..
I worked for a big tech company for over ten years. Every yearly review I ever had was above average, which wasn't hard because I actually enjoyed what I did ( maybe not the company so much, but my department was generally good). About year 2, management approaches me for supervisor work. I decline as I'm using continuing education and I'm up to my neck in work and school. Year 5, I've wrapped up a good amount of education and am pegged to lead a very important project where I'm the point of contact between two departments and two outside companies. Things go incredibly well, within 6 months the amount of work suddenly increases by 200%. At this time 10 full time team members are added, I'm in charge of cross-training and bringing every one up to speed. I hand pick the team, they are each incredible at very unique…
So a little while back my employer opted me and my colleagues out of our pensions. I wasn't particularly pleased but thought I would leave it as I was looking to leave in the very near future. (Haven't done so yet due to personal reasons). Now recently when I needed my employer the most to step up they have let me down considerably. I will be shortly retrieving my pension and what is rightly owed. I will be seeking legal advice before hand. Does anyone have anything I should look out for or be aware of before taking action?
Wow never thought I’d be here
But, my job sucks they just gaslit me today after I had my personal safety and job threatened by one of their partners for not agreeing with them, and on another occasion was called a dumb fucking bitch by a male partner, and then being told my supervisor “well it’s the industry you’re in they don’t know better?” So glad I filed my EEOC claim and recorded and documented everything. Plus the conversation where I was called a dumb fucking bitch was recorded. I’m looking forward to them explaining this behavior in court.
