No, you don’t own my life just because I’m “salaried”. No, I don’t want to work more than 40 hours a week because I’m “salaried”. No, don’t think about contacting me during my days off because “I’m salaried”. Every hour I stay AFTER my core 40 hours should be paid overtime because my time is NOT free. The audacity for companies to expect their employees to work 40+ hours a week, and everyone acting like that’s completely sane acceptable, and constantly putting in 50+ hours blows my mind. If your company “can’t afford” to pay your employees overtime even if they’re salaried, your company is crap.

Applied for this job at a clothing store. I am non binary & my name comes across as such I must say. Anyway this job I applied for is one, communicating with me through texts. No official correspondence or anything. No phone call. They asked for my availability & such. After I responded they said, & I quote “Hello, Thank you for the response. Would you mind visiting to see each other for a brief conversation? This won't be an official interview, though. I just would like to see who is applying, now.” What conversation are we going to have that can’t be done over the phone?? Why do I have to come in especially if it is not an official interview it seems like a waste of my time. And a way just for this person to see me & discriminate. I am trans & very vigilante about stuff…
Faking covid to get off work
Would it be a bad idea to fake covid to get 5 days off of my shitty job? Im an apprentice on £5 an hour, job is literally just sitting at a desk all day in an understaffed office where im carrying half of the workload and being given zero training. I wasnt sure if there was any reason not to fake covid honestly. Its easy enough to fake a positive test id have thought.
I’m 18, almost 19. I’m young and fairly healthy. Except I injured my back busting my ass for companies that didn’t particularly care. The only exception was a gaming store I worked at, the owner brought us coffee, donuts, gave us a huge discount, worked with us to have a flexible schedule, and paid pretty decently despite the fact min wage was like 10$ and I had never worked in retail before. But I can’t get workers comp because it was a bunch of little injuries, a popped rib here, a pulled muscle there, that accumulated into me having pretty consistent lower back pain. These days I’m using CBD oil and a back brace to get through the day. I work as a busser at a nicer fancy restaurant where chefs cook in front of you. It’s a really hard job for me and it doesn’t pay great so I…
OBVIOUSLY I’m being 100% sarcastic about hacking billboards, that’s probably illegal and I would never want anyone do to anything even remotely illegal that would, incidentally, push the ideas of fair pay and a collapse of virulent, destructive capitalism. If you’re content to post screenshots of text messages and that’s it, we’ll continue to have a fun sub to read through but, give it a year or two and this will dissolve like every other effort we’ve produced over the years. I look at the way Ukraine is fighting Russia — using all the resources they have, including a lot of non-violent warfare designed to bog down the enemy. Taking off all the street signs so the Russians get lost is a perfect example of using your brain to tip the scales in your favor. We need to ask ourselves, are we not at war with the billionaires? Are we…
