Some people immediately get good jobs after law school. Some do internships or fellowships, often with low stipends. It can be hard to break into a specific sub-field or a firm. But, if you need money now (this affects me, as I am LGBT and lost financial support from family when I was 22), there's always document review for major litigation. This is, in the main, reviewing materials for huge cases. It's the one part of lawyering a computer will eventually be able to do. One uses special software to categorize the several thousand to millions of pieces of paperwork so as to find the smoking gun, as it were. On call but only getting paid one hour?
My fiancé just told me that his job (which is usually salary) allowed him “overtime” for this weekend since it’s a tax firm and he does IT support. He has to be on call from 9am to 8pm but will only get paid for one hour of that entire day. If he is on call, doesn’t he have to get paid for the whole day? Am I missing something? What would he have to ask to make sure they are not taking advantage of him?

Looking for a job right now and turns out, almost every post is on-site!! I thought everyone was at least agreeing to hybrid mode! This is disappointing.

I’d feel rich if I had a Teachers salary. I’m in So Cal and make $16/hour Ugh. I’ve obviously been trying to get a better job, but it’s not that easy so far Why would anyone apply for something low in the first place then if we could all get jobs that pay $70,000+?
