Is it legal for a job to take OT days and make you call off for the rest of the week?

I worked a coupe of days of approved OT, now my job is saying I have to call off because they stopped OT after I worked it. So I have to call off so I won't go into the OT I've already worked.

Should I ask for more money?

We have been shortstaffed for the last few months. I work at a satellite site, scheduling my own appointments at a nonprofit. I have been asked to work at our main site one full day a week to help with the staffinf gap. Does this seem warranted to ask for a raise? I am doing the same duties. But for the inconvenience of having to be pulled from my office, leaving my clients, I do feel like I should be compensated until they no longer need me. For the next two weeks I am the only staff person on schedule to do the duties I do on that one day of the week. Do you think I have a leg to stand on?

Reasons (Other than the obvious) to refuse to use your own vehicle for work. If the job requires a vehicle, always ask “do you provide one?”

Company sus about workers comp

I work at a warehouse that manufactures vinyl and aluminum fencing products and sells to contractors, companies, etc. We have a lot behind the warehouse, kind of like a backyard if you will, filled and with our products. Well where I’m at (Midwest USA) there is still a lot of snow on the ground and more importantly, a TON of ice. My small 4’11 (149.5 cm) older Hispanic coworker goes outside to get something and ends up slipping and falling due to the ice. Goes to urgent care and has a hairline fracture in her hand at the base of her thumb. Our safety manager basically avoided talking to her, having me translate, and never asked if she was okay. Had to hunt him down for an incident report paper. They take advantage of the fact that she doesn’t speak English. Then they kept telling her not to bother with…

Just had my first first-hand brush with American workers union stress here in the UK

I work for myself and create videos for businesses looking to advertise or launch a product/place etc. I get emails from time to time from voiceover artists offering their services. Today I got one from an American who couldn't stress enough that she was “non-union” as if that would make any difference to me in the UK who is a member of a union myself has a partner who is in a teachers union has a parent in a healthcare union, a brother in a trades-person union; and an uncle in a retail workers union. “My name is [redacted], and I am a full-time, non-union voice over talent. I provide high quality professional voice overs for companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Heineken, Volkswagen, Versace, Virgin Orbit, Marriott International, Farmers Insurance and Hilton Hotels & Resorts to name a few. I am easy to work with, prompt, reliable, non-union and I make…

A supporter from China talks about the working environment of Chinese workers。

I got to know the antiwork community through an article from China. This surprised me because I have always been yearning for the working environment and labor laws in Europe and America. But after I browse some posts. I gradually realized that for capitalists, the size of your capital determines how much you can use labor law as toilet paper to wipe their ass. I would like to briefly introduce the situation of working in China and let you know what the working environment in developing countries is. My wife is doing an audit at PWC and is currently doing an annual audit. The workload of the annual review is huge. Her overtime work is basically the norm, and she often works until after nine o'clock to get off work. This caused her to suffer from moderate anxiety. She has spoken to me too many times lately about quitting. And…

Company Huddles in my free time

My manager wants to start daily huddles and this will be 5-10 minutes before or after the shift. I will not be compensated for this time spend. Tbh I see the benefits of a huddle but I really don’t want to spend my own free time participating in this. How does everyone else feel about this? My team gladly signed up for this and I am getting a feeling from the management team that “I am being difficult’.
