I am still underpaid so I don't consider this a solid win. A soft win? My salary was previously 41.2k for a fast paced environment designer at a promotions agency. My job is a mid-level job. Realistically, I should be compensated at least 60k from the workload & technical skills required for my position. In my review I stated that I believe a salary of 52k would be appropriate due to knowing the wages of two other designers and a recent shift of responsibilities to be more reliant on in-house designers while the remote designers has increased. I was countered with 47,5k and accepted it. For more context: My company has had high turnover specifically in the art department. When I started, they still had 1 more open position after hiring 3 designers within a month. I was the 3rd hire. Since I started, the team has had 3 more…
So now we have to “trick” job apps too?
I'm so tired of these apps making job hunting harder. And now I'm just learning that I have to somehow “trick” an AI to actually get my resume through to employers? As if simply applying for jobs all day long while battling debilitating depression and poverty isn't hard enough. Down with LinkedIn! Screw Indeed and ZipRecruiter. They're making the wealth gap wider and hurting millions of poor people, just to benefit their shareholders!
