Thoughts? Should I quit? Help.
I have had this upcoming Friday requested off since January. Since our July schedule has been out, I have had this Friday shown as off. Last week, my manager switched my off days this week without notifying me or talking to me about it, although it has been a request off for 6 months as well as WAS shown as me being off when the schedule was out. Please note, everyone in my workplace works this Friday, so there is no reason why me being off should be an issue. This is not the only time she has given me the green light on being off a certain date, so I plan my life accordingly, then randomly tells me I can’t with no true or given explanation as to why. She told me if schedule changes are not respected, that it will have to turn into a documented coaching lesson.…
Career advice???
So. We need money to live. To get a house, have kids, provide for our family, and to get nice things/save up. Right now I'm pretty blessed to be getting 20 an hour. Where I live it's not a lot by any means, but for what I do for work, it's decent. So I'm not in a HUGE hurry to make more money, but I do plan to get a house next year (I'm getting married.) Only experience I have is driving box trucks and some customer service. Had some experience being a fedex driver, worked at a warehouse for a bit… I fill vending machines for work currently, helluva lot better than FedEx. My knees were about to disintegrate after just 3 months Still not good for my body, especially the sitting in a truck. Anyways! What are some good paying jobs that don't require 50 hours+ a week?…
I’ve been on the hunt for a job since May, and have done 7ish interviews why i say ish is because two of them have been set up and scheduled and when it’s time for the phone/ zoom interview I either don’t get called and have confirmation emails that the interview is still happening or I have zoom calls where I sit and wait in the link they gave me and no one ever joins. What is the point of this!? I was supposed to have an interview at 2:45 today (so 20 minutes ago) and they sent an email confirming the interview and a text an hour before and I never got the actual phone call. I sent an email asking what’s up and if I should call the number they provided in the text message and nothing.. the lack of awareness and respect from these companies is crazy.…
I’m looking for something where I can put in my salary when I started my job, and all of my raises and the dates of the raises, and figure out if I’m getting screwed or not. Also our yearly reviews are coming up so I’m looking to figure out what kind of raise I need to make sure, again, that I don’t get screwed. Thanks in advance!
The title is very summed up but I'll break down my situation. I know Michigan is not a renter-friendly state but I am renting a place with 2 other guys that I don't know at all. The day I went to sign the lease, one of them got a 30-day eviction notice. Now, the other roommate and I are scrambling to find another tenant, this should not be my concern. I signed a lease but they are having us redo it when we find a 3rd; so I am going to get the other tenants on board and negotiate to not be liable for eachother if one moves out. I don't mind helping to find other roommates but I should not have to pay 3x my rent if they decide to leave (I don't know them and I can't afford it – full time student/worker). It shouldn't work this way.…
I'm in my mid 30s and am working in my third organization. At the last two places they didn't strongly enforce start or end time of work day, so I would typically start later than 9, work while I ate, and then be finished at 5 or maybe a little earlier. My current company is a hospital (so open 24/7/365) and I work an office position (well free to WFH or in the office), doing largely independent work. My boss INSISTS we start at 8, take a full hour for lunch, and don't end before 5. It drives me insane. I don't mind working while I eat and really don't want a random free hour in the middle of the day. It takes me 10 minutes to eat lunch and I exercise before work. An hour isn't long enough to go do anything and make it back. Every day I…
HR Investigations
Not sure where to go with this but I could use some advice. I’ve been told by an HR representative that there is an ongoing investigation on me regarding drinking or smoking while on a zoom team meeting. I denied the allegation as I have some work ethic and respect for my job, along with 2 children that I support so doing something like drinking or smoking during working hours is something unfathomable to me. They’re going to meet with me again soon and I’m not really sure what to do if I am fired over a false accusation. working here for more than 5 years zoom calls are not recorded to my knowledge basically hearsay I’m also actively breastfeeding my youngest What are my options? Edit* I’m a remote worker
If you have a 2 weeks notice and hours later they terminated you, do you have right to severance or any protections? Thanks.
