i work as a manager of an office at a university that i attend. yesterday i wasn't meant to be working, i was only on campus because i had to attend a class but as i was leaving another manager stopped me and asked me to fill in because she had an emergency at home, i of course said yes and went into the office to work for an hour or two. its important to note that i didn't work in the front office at all yesterday for the two hours i was there as i was finishing projects, answering phone calls and emails in the back office so the only time that i was out front was before i even got the chance to clock in. my supervisors supervisor pulled me aside that day and told me i was dressed completely inappropriately (for reference i was wearing a skirt…

We're taxed at every step of our lives, from getting a huge chunk of our income being taken from us before we even get our pay, to being tax on everything we pay for. This would be fine if that taxed money went to beneficial things like free healthcare, education, social services, infrastructure, etc, but no. I can't even think of anything that makes me go “my taxes helped provide that for people.” Instead our money gets used for idiotic purposes like funding US proxy wars and illegitimate states like Israel. Funny how this country was founded on ideals like, “No taxation without representation.” Well I feel pretty unrepresented.

Retail workers had to work through covid and they we called essentials and heroes. With $2 raise last 4 years while the company has made big profits

This is the perfect time to join. You will never have this much attention again. If all around the country unions decide to strike for fairer wages and better packages, they can join Hollywood in magnifying their voices. Nurses, Teachers, Railworkers; Amazon, Starbucks, Target, etc. We could finally shut this country down for one day. And all it would take is one day. This is it. This is our chance!
