My partner worked at a small to-go sushi place. The owners had made many promises to her. They told her that they would get her help. They promised her more money. They would constantly talk about how much more experienced sushi chefs cost and how she was better. One if the owners would frequently refer to her as if she were property. This person was also prone to mood swings and frequently passive aggressive. Their was a recent falling out with the owners' business partner, and my girlfriend's bosses talked a lot about how she was family and how they were getting out and taking her with them. Then they started taking 3 or 4 days off a week and doing the bare minimum when they were at work. They would show up on busy nights with friends creating more work for their understaffed restauarnt. A few weeks ago they…

It was very educational seeing how pay was determined dmined from the other side of things. The top roll making more than 10x the entry roll prior to extra benifits such as bonus and such. Seeing how the pandemic caused them to raise entry level pay, but not enough to matter, and how people who interviewed well for manager rolls and asked for more got more opposed to someone who just took what was originally offered. Asked me any questions you may have about the wage process and I’ll answer as best I can.
I applied to this job by spamming job postings on Craig’s List because I can’t find myself to individually apply for jobs by writing a custom CVs or perform those awful Indeed quizzes. This was one of two jobs that got back with me and both jobs were toxic and high hourly salary. I decided to keep looking, but so far no luck. One week later, the owner of the company called me back to see if I was still interested. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. I knew they must of been very desperate so was I, except I made it known I need a good salary. Starting off in the company seemed fairly normal. I was trained for two whole days with the Accountant to get me going with learning how to do the job as a Scheduler. There was another person on the same department as myself and she taught…
Got fired and accused of theft??
i worked at a local coffee shop for 4 months. i LOVED my job so much and my co workers. I got home from a trip to NY to find my hours on the Square app had been removed. i asked my boss about it and he wanted to call. i said no and wanted to text. he told me i had been fired. i asked why and apparently the till had been coming up short during my shifts (i don’t work alone. i work with multiple other people lol). i told him to check the cameras and he admitted there was no proof. gave me no chance to defend myself and blocked me. i’m so upset. i really loved my job and i’m absolutely distraught at the accusation.
Gaslighted
To sum this shit up. Moved to a new employer “Growing Company” bullshit. I’m in management (Salary). First 90 days are Mandated 6 days a week, scheduled 9 hour shifts. With meetings outside of scheduled hours as well. After my 90 days, my days off are split Fridays and Sundays. With meeting always on my Friday day off. I was initially told my Saturday shift was only 5 hours. However when the time came after my 90 days. They made it seem like I made that shit up and said, “No you work a full shift”. I was like… weird Weeks later, my counterpart saw me on a Saturday and to their surprise I was working. And they also confirmed my initial belief which was told to me during my interview and orientation. So again I asked and got gaslighted to oblivion. Months later, I pull up the schedule for…
I've been seeing this a lot lately. There are a ton of people in this sub who think that their lives are being made more difficult by hard-working coworkers. The most commonly regurgitated sentiment is “Hard work isn't rewarded with anything except more work, and you're just making all the rest of us look bad! Stop being a boot licker!” First of all, you have to understand that some people are naturally inclined to work hard. It's in their nature, and they hold the belief that the harder they work, the more good things will happen to them. And guess what? That's their belief, regardless of whether or not it's true, and it's not your place to try and change that belief or their hard-working nature. Let people be who they want to be. Life is about trying to be the best possible version of yourself, and for some people…
So I was at a sales manager position for this big big company that works on retail. Well in retail isn't doing that good (After like 4 years of non-stop record breaking annual revenue) 2023 hasn't been that good (as what inverstors thought it'd be. So one branch (where I was working) was schedules to close but with the promise of everyone in it being transferred to other stores. This has happened sometime before and the company has kept it's promise of relocating everyone. When there were like two months lefts to the closing date I started asking questions of 'where' l. All I got was “when there is one month left you'll know”, “When there are two weeks left…”, “The same week of closure ” and so on but everytime they kept promising there was nothing to worry about. During this period of time my team's morale and mental…
Bonus-inventives
Just had my annual performance review
I scored a 3.9/5. I was offered a 3.5% raise, which is standard. Was told I'm irreplacable. Tell me your score and your raise so we have data on how these assholes are paying us vs. rating us.
