So my company is a little difficult as I’m not in america. I work for a business EFL company in Japan. I got diagnosed meniere’s earlier this year and while I could get medical leave and medical permissions for the vertigo I’m having, my company made it very stressful and pressured me into working more than my doctor was allowing, as well as asking me to lie to my doctor about it. Well of course, after this ended, I still get sick and need to call in. I have been pulled into multiple meetings since then guilting me with “a failing reputation” and “causing chaos” and “being unprofessional” about being sick. Well of course I immediately looked for a new job and have gotten a few part time options lined up. Put in my two weeks notice and since I have no energy, I just blamed it on my health…

Corporate job working remotely, so I talk to people via zoom call all the time. This lady in particular complained about how hot it was, and apologized for the tiny top she was wearing, and it wasn’t until later on that call that I realized she was in fact showing nippl13. I can’t figure why this makes me think about it over and over. Should I say something?
This happened a few days ago and I’m still annoyed. I had one of those virtual corporate Teams background and he asked me if it was real or fake. I answered it’s fake, and he said otherwise “we’re paying you too much”. He brought it up on a second call, saying it looks like it costs $12,000 a month. I know it was a joke but I hate the fact that’s a thing to say someone’s paid “too much”. I didn’t know what to say – any ideas for retorts? This guy is easily early 70s and seems to have an old school mentality (and got his job through the good old boy’s club).
Hey everyone. Long time member, first time poster. I got a letter in the mail today from the IRS saying I owe $7,000+ in taxes because an ex employer claimed I made $49,000 more than what I really made, and it’s from 2021. Brief background of my employment, I worked there from Nov. 2020 to March 2023, when I was laid off for seemingly bullshit reasons. Kind of funny because a week before I was let go I wrote a letter to the owner stating I think I’m worth x per year, for increased workload, and time of employment over the last 2 and a half years, it got denied of course. (I had previously received a $1.00 raise in my span of employment there). Anyway. I’m reaching out to see what you all have to say about the situation and if you have any advice or recommendations on what…

Today, I (M18), just fired due to our little adorable creatin of a man that was our regional manager. I had a POS regional manager. I think legally I need to keep his name secret. But I'll call him Kevin for now. (TW: Transphobia and Implied Antisemitism. DISCLAIMER!!! I am new to Reddit and am trying to get this story out everywhere. IDK what the hell I'm doing lol.) Kevin (My ex-bosses boss) was talking about the holocaust (an event where I have lost family) during work hours. He was fully aware that I am Jewish in blood, and even if not, it is inappropriate work conversation. Even if he was off the clock, the employee he was talking with people who were not (leaving me to man everything). I was restocking sodas, trying to ignore for a while. And I mumble “Jesus..” under my breath. He appeared to had…
I work as an Office Administrator for a small business in my hometown. It’s been an absolute fucking nightmare since Day 1; I don’t make enough to pay my bills even living in low income housing while working 80 hour weeks. On top of that my boss is a complete tyrant, the anxiety I feel at work and the stress I take home with me is taking a HUGE mental and physical toll. I’ve asked for a raise multiple times and was met with a “maybe”. Only now benefits are being discussed. After the first month of my employment, the owners decided to go out of town for 3 weeks, which turned into complete shitstorm. I was left high and dry to run the business as well as watch their two dogs for the entire duration, even though I only agreed to check on the dogs on days they couldn’t…
