Last days a lot of young people in Mexico from Z generation has been uploading videos with a song from Mexican band Belanova called “Rosa Pastel”. Those videos talk about University Degrees' expectations and the reality of getting menial jobs or even working in streets, and the verse of this break-up themed song translated from Spanish says the following: -You would be my superhero, and well, everything is finished, nothing remains, we will be two strangers, Me, I will forget you, You will forget me, so goodbye. The first video was the following: https://cdn.jwplayer.com/previews/nW8TUAR1 We, the people from the global south are victims not only of the capitalism, but also from being cheap labor for big corporations from the so called first world. The guys in those videos earn around 450 dollars monthly, working more than 40 hours a week and most of the times without…

How little they care!
A month ago we had an incident that caused someone to get injured. We filed an OSHA complaint and nothing came from it. Today we had the same safety issue happen, but this time someone died, and the company is claiming this is a “random unforeseen event” and they had “no knowledge” of a safety issue. GOD I want to move out of the U.S.!!! And I'm a Vet, yet I still want to say screw this place. This shit stopped being worth it long ago. Sorry for the rant, but I'm just fed up.
US Corporation in Asia
I just sent my resignation letter, which was rather short and template like, I wanted to mention in that letter so many things, but at the end I kept it simple and come here to went the rest. After working nearly 20 years for many multinational corporations (IT field) I never experienced so rude and soulless behavior towards employees as my current (US) Employer do. For comparison: I worked 9 years for a German then 6 years for a Japanese corporation, and the past two years for this American corp. I was the regional head of three offshore (software) production offices in south east Asia. The first red flags popped up on my first day in this job when my line manager (COO) started with a rant about my predecessor who was “too soft”, and put employee above corp. interests. And this comes with a light threat of “He got…
I’ve been with the company for almost three years and I have a reputation as being one of the best. There are people here that have been here longer than me (5 years, 7 years etc) that don’t nearly do as good as me and most people see it, even managers. We all do the same job. I’m still always off late while the others are always leaving hours before me. Should a schedule ever go by how good the workers are and not just by seniority? I’m seeing how people take advantage of their seniority, same early schedule every week nomatter what, no incentive to change. What are your thoughts? My options appear to be to bring this up to management and try and be off earlier, or be less productive on purpose since my schedule sucks
I want to quit, but I’m afraid to…
I have been at my Tech Support job for a good while now, and I am currently at a crossroads. About 4 months ago, we got a new boss. He has gotten into arguments with me about pretty much everything I do. I have asked for a raise, and he denied it; even after I showed him the algebra formula, with steps, to prove that I would not be able to afford the most starter condo I want; unless I worked there for 15 years. He has disabled my phone from being able to access emails. He told me to “just read what the fuck he wrote”, because I updated a ticket in the ticket system; instead of calling the user. He said that “I come from the military, where we don't break down your career; we break down your morale”. This was during a team meeting, after I got…
They stole most of my commissions and as a result I'm not motivated anymore. I'm a high performer bringing a lot of money in, so obviously promising a big commission and then taking most of it away because of currency exchange rate fucked with my mind. So today, my manager came in and said she wrote me up because the director was not okay with someone like me having a poor performance. She also said this is the first warning and after 3 they would fire me, so I should get my shit together. Honestly fuck them. I'm doing the bare minimum until I find another job.
I made a post yesterday about the abhorrent jail food that Amazon provided us during Prime Day and, honestly, I just wanted to say something here too because this completely destroyed any willingness I had to keep working for them. It tasted very similar to those really cheap 99 cent burgers you'd find in a frozen grocery section of a store, and it was also cold, didn't even feel like it was ever warm. All of this for the people they are forcing two mandatory overtime shifts on for a total of 55 hours. It was not just a slap in the face, it felt like Jeff Bezos put his dick in my mouth. And this is all after working two super hectic shifts to fulfill people's packages that they didn't even get a deal on. Since eating these, I've had explosive diarrhea and intense abdominal cramps. And I get…
