Here, I read a few posts and immediately saw how negative this sub was so I decided to bring some positivity. It's a thing called the Teal way of working, I currently work in one, and we see everyday the bad company practices from some clients. If you have the power or the rank to make changes in your company, you should really look into the multiple benefits it brings. If I had to resume my current experience, I'd say that it is such a relaxed atmosphere that sometimes it feels like doing a project with friends and not like working at all. I really think this should be the new “default” …

So I put in my 2 week notice for my current job, as I’m supposed to be working part-time (20 hours) yet because my boss continues to hire new people, despite the place Im working at struggling financially, my hours have become more like 6 hours a week, following my notice, I have received 0 hours. I work minimum wage as is, plus tips, and maybe get $200 bi-monthly. I was already planning on getting another job by mid-august, but I will not be receiving any income till then. I have enough saved to make it through and cover my expenses, but it’s just frustrating that they can just shaft my hours after already giving me barely any as is.

(vent/support seeking) This has been the worst year of my career, psychologically. I was unjustly given a looming threat of being fired at the start of the year, and casually reiterated now and then for what felt like dramatic effect. Obviously, 7 months later and I'm still employed, but the threats are getting more intense. Of course, the first time it was uttered I started to look for a new job. But, like most people across tech, finding a job right now is nearly impossible due to massive layoffs since late last year. There aren't enough openings for all the ppl looking. I'm just feeling so miserably trapped. I left freelancing for this job for “mOrE sTaBiLiTy” like an idiot. Now all of my clients have moved on and everyone who's been laid off is freelancing. I live the life of a wage slave. I will be a servant to the elite until my body literally gives out from out old age. 8 days a month of freedom. Menial servitude for the rest. Cubicle work drives me insane, manual labor is the exact same just in extreme heat and cold. We are robots doing repetitive, mind numbing tasks. Dooming another poor soul to a cubicle is cruel, especially since most people want kids out of selfish desire. Similar to wanting a pet or something You get to play dress up with a human doll for a few years and then ope get in your cubicle mr slave. A life of meaningless toil and servitude. ‘That’s life it sucks’ well why the fuck would you do this to anyone? This doesn’t even take into consideration the poverty, just the pure reality of doing menial labor until death.

“these are your hours, how are you about overtime?”. “Well, personally I don't need the extra money and prefer the time..”. “Well, we ask that yo do at least a Saturday every other week and 4 hours in the week”. Oh.. appears to be the thing for my type of work now. I had a great job. 8 while 4 until I got made redundant. Now my only job opportunities are fucking life sucking to me. 6 day weeks and then a 5 day week. Early starts, no exceptions. This. Is why I hate working. I've been so happy while I've been off. Except when job hunting. Acting like you want a job when really a fucking don't. I suffer depression. I hate living like a slave. I broke my self and worked damn hard for my last employer. And then bang, I'm redundant and now need an even shitter…
