I work in fast food as a manager & i find it very creepy when our supervisor texts us in the group chat saying that he can “see what’s going on” & tell us to correct the issue. Like, why are you watching us like that? I get reviewing the cameras periodically if there is a problem or complaint on a certain shift. But to sit there & watch them at home at all hours is very weird & just shows that you absolutely don’t trust your employees. Idk, I think I want to quit tbh bc not only does he see us, he also listens to us talk & will ask us about our conversations. It just feels invasive. Am I wrong or is this just overboard micromanaging?

Before the pandemic there was 14 of us. The ones still employed just do more work for the same pay. I work for a bank.. and my department gives used car dealers lines of credit who buy an sell vehicles while paying fees and interest. I’m making $35/hour but still feel underpaid based off the amount of money I’m managing 40 hours a week 8-5. Am I crazy?

We have to put an end to the money grab that businesses are engaging in against employees. It’s been happening for a while now but since Covid many have ramped it up to a new level. Many don’t know this but when you pay a gratuity on a cruise ship about 80-90% never goes to the front facing employees as stated and implied. I’m not sure how this is legally allowed but it’s definitely happening. It’s misleading at best and theft at worst. Now what I’ve been seeing are many resorts and lodges going to the all inclusive model. Looks like they’ve figured out how to be able to manipulate the system to enrich themselves and keep the common man down where he belongs. We can stop this with one simple step, carry and tip in cash. Ask about specifics regarding how your gratuity is being spent, and boycott those…

So my boss has been on a rampage lately apparently. He's taking his frustration out on us but this one makes no sense. Apparently there has been a “cell phone problem” so we aren't allowed to use them unless it's for text our boss. And now because a coworker didn't “hear the problem when it happened” music being played on noise canceling headsets is out too. Thing is, you can't hear or feel your phone going off over the machines you are running. And you obviously don't get text notifications unless your headset is turned on and tuned into the Bluetooth part or its wired. So he's basically told us we should drive around in absolute boring silence for 8 hours with no way to know he's trying to contact us. Even if we had radios we couldn't hear them over our machines. Applied for a “Senior Manager” position within a hospitality company. Advertised as 60-70k salary + benefits. I figured it was at a GM level or one step above/below, (wasn’t clear based on ambiguous job title, should’ve been red flag #1 in hindsight). I arrive for the interview and the person who invited me didn’t even show up. I was interviewed by a lower level supervisor (red flag #2). About two minutes into the interview the supervisor tells me that I won’t actually be working in the position I applied for, OR making the wage for that position. Because of their unique “brand culture” this company wanted every employee to work as a minimum wage hourly associate for months before being eligible for promotion. So long story but i have a tumor in my head, have been burned out at work to a level were i was unable to get out of bed and fired due to a corrupt colleague. My parents and other relatives keep asking me when i will work again and “it would be great if you had a job already” wtf. Like im the one deciding who they are going to hire. Also im so tired of it all. I have been at doctors several times since i have days im dizzy the whole day etc not the mention the rest and nothing happens. But i have friends who have been written out of work for being mildly autistic, back pain and coughing. Im on unemployment currently and i have a baby with my wife so im not bored. I probably already applied for 200+ jobs and have 6+ years…
