Just wanted to share my little victory story of not taking shit from my boss. I work in IT and I'm currently compensated as a junior, but for a while now I outgrew those shoes, and during my yearly formal evaluation I asked for a raise. Doing my research, 15% would have definitely been defensible, but I asked for 10% and would have found some number between 5 or 10% acceptable. Bossman would have none of it, gave me a list of reasons why I couldn't get a raise. The best was stupid bureaucracy stuff and the worst ones were really just nonsense, some were even mild to medium gaslighting. So I got nothing. After this the extra tasks kept piling on, advanced tasks like leading group projects and doing hiring interviews. Definitely not stuff that fits a junior pay. Additionally there should be 3 of us in my team…
I see this dot not getting connected a lot of the time with things like “they will be making as much as me to flip burgers!”. Why are you okay making so little? I want to go back to a story about two years ago a co-worker and I where made to go out on a weekend to work. Both under salary so no overtime and they didn’t even let us comp our time to make up for losing part of our weekends. What’s fucked up is my co-worker was making 40k/yr and we found out the work we did paid the company $6,000 for each of us. My co worker had an annual review not to long after this and politely asked what the options for raises where. They immediately turned and gas lit them. Told them it was completely unacceptable to even bring up money in an annual…
Hello, i started working on this company as CNC 7 years ago, they took me with no experience (My first job and first company) and i was working on a CNC Machine 3 axis. I had a person teaching me how to “learn” to work but that person left 3 years ago. When they took me as apprentice my salary was around 1200 euro with no experience at all (I Was with that person that was training me). After all this years i went from 1 Machine, to learning and running when needed (not always) 3 machine CNC + doing Cad-Cam programs and also putting tools, removing tools, changing tools, pretty much i do everything from the start to the end, nobody else can do it or is capable of doing it and if i am sick my machine is turned off. After all this time my salary went up…
I see no reason to celebrate the 4th.
Why celebrate when there's white people that call dibs on the land that's already been reserved by the native americans? Why celebrate when the Supreme Court basically took away women's rights to their OWN body and college students needing a debt relief? Why celebrate when our country would rather to spend on $800B on the military instead of investing in universal healthcare and its own people? Why celebrate when capitalism runs so deep in this country that they bribe the politicians through lobbying to adjust their preferences to keep tax-free, and only making them richer?
I work remotely for a giant hospital system. I’ve been in my new role for a month and training has been fully remote. I have an hour of directly zoom training with my manager every day. I dread this hour because she is incredibly mean and hostile to me. Not to mention she has me write out emails while sharing my screen so she can micromanager every word. Last Friday, she yelled at me for sending an email without her approval. I was shaking by the end of our zoom meeting. Im trying to quit this job asap, but maybe getting fired would be better? Thinking about doing bare minimum until their fire me. In the meantime, do I go to HR to document her behavior towards me? Or should I say something to her? Btw, my coworker that started at the same time as me just disclosed that she’s…
Quick Change
I (28m) have worked in Procurement/Supply Chain for the past 4 years. The past two years were great, I learned the processes quickly, became a Team Lead after eight months, promotion after ten and within 18 months another promotion and I was moved up to an Approving Official (where I oversee a team, review their work, etc) I have contacts at another location, who was offering a 10% raise to do similar work….I took it and now it’s been five weeks and I believe I made a mistake. It’s similar work, but I don’t like management, the processes and other things, also I am no longer an Approving Official but now I am back down where I was 18-24 months ago (job wise, but not pay) I had a corporate meeting this past week and bumped into a guy I’ve known for a while, got to talking and told me…
No real reason besides this job is pointless. I wake up everyday and get upset about the fact that I'm working 40hrs a week, with so little time to myself and at the end of it I don't even make enough to rent my own apartment. I'm just over it. I don't wanna live this way. My mental health has gotten worse, I've gained weight, I stopped talking to friends and I don't even enjoy my hobbies anymore. I just feel like everyday I'm wasting away at this job that I probably won't be able to keep over a year anyway. But I feel bad for leaving early because it's last minute and one of my coworkers is out for the week due to her husband having surgery. So if I leave I absolutely know they'll have attitude. I've also only been here about 4months and I've called out once…
How Do you deal with A**lickers
I am Getting affected by an Ass licker Hi All, I am part of a small Organisation it is not a corporate organisation. So since few days a girl has been super active I am very much sure she wants to be the next incharge she is trying things very desperately to do it. She doesn't have a good rapot with others but she keeps being with the senior and try getting closer to him. It's definitely not sexual but just to get unfair advantage. When the senior is not available his wife is incharge so she visits their house also. I don't think the senior is doing these intentionally how do you think I should approach him?
