My boss is threatening to take me to HR because I didn’t text him while on a leave of absence for my mental health

I returned to work today after a 30 day personal leave. TL;DR I was having a mental health crisis and asked to take leave to get some help. A week before I returned I had a meeting with HR to confirm my return date, HR checked in to see if I needed any resources, and I apologized as I felt I needed to take some accountability for the way I left. My boss was supposed to be present for this meeting but he never showed, so HR assured me they would relay the details to him. 2 days later my boss is texting me wanting me to go over my return to work plans. I ignored this text as a) I was meant to return to work in 3 days b) I already had this conversation with HR (who is in charge of my leave) and was sure HR already…

How to make it look like you do more work than you actually do

I completely want to f with my disgusting manager that thinks his employees “should be taken advantage of” right from the first day I should have left when he said that but had to pay bills so I stayed.

How can I be a good landlord?

Looking into buying an investment property and renting it out. I know a lot of people don't like landlords (especially in this subreddit). So I though I would ask how I can avoid becoming a “scum of the earth” type of landlord.

I want my medical leave money.

Called for the second time about the money I'm owed for having my appendix removed. Next step will be calling the ceo of one of the biggest companies in this country or going to the media. How hard is it for people to simply do their jobs ?

I hate how every company banks on breaking you down with their own personal brand of BS

The first three months, everyone comes in with bushy tails, at their most creative and clear-headed. They want to make positive changes but soon they run into the invisible walls the company has set up for itself. The new employees soon realize it was all smoke and mirrors and grow bitter. They go through the five stages of denial before “settling” for the paycheck and doing the bare minimum to keep getting paid. This all happens within 3-4 months. Story old as time, but it still annoys me. Companies expect innovation but do absolutely nothing to inspire or foster it. I'm at the four month mark and want to quit. It's all so pointless. None of this is productive.

Recruiters Data Farming?

I can only assuming they’re data farming at this point, but I don’t understand why I guess. I’ve had a few recruiters reach out to me, tell me about a job and say to let them know if I’m interested. I tell them I am, and they just… ghost me? I don’t understand the purpose of this or why the companies they work for don’t track that kind of thing and just let them ghost who knows how many candidates. Anyone else experiencing this?

Quiet quitting is just doing the job you’re paid to do

People keep making it seem like quiet quitting is people just not working, which isn't true IMO. I used to be a “Rockstar” employee that gave it 110% at every turn. Want 5 rush projects done with an insane turn around time? You got it! Come in early, stay late, and pick up extra tasks? Sure thing! Now I literally just do my job. Nothing more, and nothing out of my pay grade. At first I felt bad and like I was lazy, but that's years of conditioning from employers talking. You want above and beyond? You gotta pay for it, bitch.

Local tipless restaurant actually has a disclaimer and shows their wage range

Wish it was more but at least they provide the transparency and also didn't have the bullshit “hospitality charge” that a lot of places are doing with no explanation about what it's for.
