At the end of last year we all got a letter at work stating that we would get 1000€ each, as bonus because of inflation. I think 2 people got the full 1000€..cause they calculated your sick days into the thing I got 150€ At the beginning of the year they had this big speach about how “if you're under 5% sick leave quota, you get 1000€ at the end of june” They calculated everything into that quota. Work accidents, sick kids, the bos being sick himself? Yep. even the long term sickness guys were calculated in. At max 3 people each week could be sick without a problem.. Well we have 2 guys who didn't show up since September. And you stop paying for them after 6 weeks of sick leave, insurance takes care of em at that point. They're not even paying for them, but their contribution to…

sad that people think like this
saw this written in a bathroom stall, sad so many people equate personal dignity with doing meaningless work..
New job hired me due to needing people.
My new job hired me because they claimed to desperately need people, to the point of also advertising willing to hire 15 year olds. I’m 20, and now i’m on my second week with zero hours scheduled. What the fuck happened to the “We really need people” claim? The issue is I now likely can’t get any other benefits since I’m “employed” but just not given hours. And on top of that, I only make 11 an hour as is. How the hell is one supposed to pay rent when they have zero hours?? Anyone else have this experience?
Quit my job on sunday
I've never felt better. I worked in retail for almost 5 years and just couldn't take the B's the owners were dishing out year after year. They have no idea how to motivate their employees, keep talking about record profits and not passing the buck on to the people who work 10hr+ shifts in the busy season many of us who come in on days off to make extra ot. Every meeting I have with them I am given backhanded compliments “You're doing great, but…” And “we only give raises once you've proven you can handle the tasks we've given you” absolute bs. I'm tired of customers, I'm tired of being lied to and manipulated, I'm tired of half my paycheck going to rent, I'm tired of being given shit for taking my sick time when I need it, I'm tired of being talked down to when my managers incompetence…
In jobs I’ve been in lately (UK), this has been the rules. I am a sick person, I have a shot immune system due to underlying health conditions. I was fired from my last job because I had 5 sick instances in a year when I was only allowed 3. I don’t understand how any human can possibly only be sick less than 3 times a year? I’m in a new good job now but I’ve been sick 2 times in the past 3 weeks. I’ve been giving a warning letter that I have one more strike and I’m out. When I started the job I told them about my health conditions, but that doesn’t matter. The stress of going from job to job, and the stress of these warnings, make my health even worse. I suffer mentally and physically. If I lose this job, I can’t afford to pay…
UK here. My work hours are 9:30-5:30, got a promotion within my company and with a new team now who have specified the working hours but never once have stuck to them? Contacted 35 hours a week hybrid working with 1 hour lunch. Every.Single.Day I’ll work to 6/6:30 because my colleague fail to get back to me on work. That’s an extra 30 mins to 1 hour everyday. Once you work that out 5 days a week and almost 52 weeks per year that works out about a month or more unpaid extra hours! Why the hell are people so comfortable giving up their free time? If I speak up I’ll most likely be perceived as not a team player etc and I don’t want to be a prick. Is this normal now?
