Interviewed at an ABA place and the owner informed me I would have to pay for my own $80 background check before I could start working at MINIMUM WAGE. Then they dropped $100 on a class that can be found online (accredited) for free. Maybe I’m the asshole but I personally think you should run a background check on any potential childcare employees BEFORE you let them tour the building full of children. Also Karen, unprofessionalism is forgetting to write down our first interview date. Unprofessionalism is not showing up to the interview you’re conducting. But pop off.

Title says it all. Any advice on how to word a response would be appreciated. Serious only please.
I've noticed that I manage to complete my tasks at an efficient rate. But I've spoken to a couple of people, and they've all discouraged me, because it could get me in trouble, even though I'm doing the job right and getting things done. How can this pose a problem?
It’s Too Much…
TL;DR my life is rapidly crumbling all around me, and i have no hope for a future. I’ve been working in retail for almost a decade now, 7 years total, and i’ve finally hit a wall. Though this wall i’ve hit isn’t what i was expecting. for context i’m 26 and i was recently diagnosed late in life with Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). And on top of that, i was also diagnosed with PTSD. This wall i’ve hit is no joke, i’ve been experiencing autistic work burnout for almost a year now. It started at my last job, and now it’s carried to my current job. Along with that i’ve been having intense panic attacks about work, attacks so paralyzing that i’ve been missing large chunks of work. My current job, i enjoy it but my managers haven’t been the most helpful while i’ve been seeking diagnosis and…
This could include complaints about being able to realistically achieve one’s goals, issues with pay and more.
I work for a big non-profit hospital with terrible PTO (less than 2 weeks including sick time and vacation) and benefits. Just saw the CEO’s compensation on the 990 forms for the past few years and was gobsmacked. Looking at rough estimates from indeed, this hospital’s medical assistants’ rough annual salary is ~41,600… Between 2018-2021 the base compensation for the CEO grew from 1.4-1.6 million dollars. However, the total compensation, including retirement and so on, fluctuated significantly, with the lowest being 1.7 million and the highest year being 7.6 million. Looking at the form more closely, the biggest factor in that fluctuation was the “Bonuses and incentives” column, with the lowest year’s bonus and incentive amount at 38,000, and the highest being 5.5+ million $. Can someone speak to what the hell these bonus and incentives are? Is this money that the CEO would actually take home? What does taxing…
Do you also believe that for most of the companies you are just a row in an excel sheet and higher ups can anyday delete that row (layoff) without considering how it will impact the employee's life. Loyalty is overrated these days .
Not even 6 months in
Well, it happened. Almost 6 months ago I took a new job as finance in a dealer. Today I submitted my commission sheet for last month and the owner told me he wants to discuss my pay. I thought it was gonna be “Hey man, you’re doing good. Let’s raise your %” but instead I got the “last month wasnt that well for the dealer as a whole, you did good but we might have to change your structure” I do everything here. Sales and finance. Changed the way we advertise, lowered the overhead by almost 8% in my short time here. Not ONE deal has been returned. Everything funded within 72 hours, even on weekends. Our other guy quit almost 2 months ago so I’ve been working every single deal and now the owner expects me to pick up tag and title portions, service complaints and more without an…
Brace yourselves for this one: a part-time position that pays a measly $14 per hour but has the audacity to demand two letters of recommendations just to be considered. Are you kidding me? Is this some kind of twisted joke? It is a simple help desk role. Sitting at a desk. Answering phones. In what world does such a part-time job warrant such a request? Are they looking for an experienced executive? It's a blatant overreach and a significant barrier for individuals who may not have an extensive professional network or previous work experience. This demand for letters of recommendations feels like a slap in the face to those who are trying to get their foot in the door, gain experience, or simply make ends meet. It's an unnecessary hurdle that benefits no one but the company, who probably feels entitled to a sense of superiority and power over potential…
To start, I was actually supposed to start my 2nd day at my new job today, which I though would be a stepping stone to better things, but lost it due to this incident. I'm technically homeless though I live out my car so that's something over my head. I had been looking for work for months wrecking my credit and doing all possible to keep above water. Services have me waiting with no responses for a loooong time, this incident has messed up everything. So a police officer was speeding for some reason, chasing/trying to get somewhere not sure but that's irrelevant. Why I am pissed off is because this idiot who can't drive had rammed my car, which pushed it into some equipment & metal pipes on the side damaging my right tire. Hit and run into my vehicle. “Protect and serve” it says on the car. Damage…
