Got into work yesterday to find someone else in my work station. Apparently she was on medical leave and was told I wasn't working today so she could come in. I was 100% not told this. Lady calls our boss who doesn't answer because she never answers on the weekend. Lady says she'll leave and I can stay but she'll ask whose working tomorrow (aka today). Boss never contacts me about who is working today. Eventually I text my boss looking for clarification on if I work today because according to the other lady I wasn't supposed to be working this weekend at all. Boss takes forever to respond but says no I'm not working. She does not expand on this at all. I feel like I'm about to be laid off because this lady was here first and was just on medical leave. I would've appreciated them telling me…

Should I start this new job
I’ve been job hunting hard since February. I’m in the running still for at least 4. One I have a second interview on Thursday. I accepted a job offer with a company that I’m not excited about. The pay is okay, but I lowballed myself by telling them what I’d minimally accept. Of course they offer me my minimum. The job is also a hard ass commute. I’m not currently driving. And I mainly want the job just so I can start paying rent. I’m living with an ex. My mom gave me the idea to do an Airbnb close to the new job temporarily until I can get a job that’s an easier commute. I’m annoyed because all my other interviews have been major cities. And then the one offer I get it in office 90% and in a hard commuting town. I don’t feel prepared to start and…
National Union
I’m moreso interested in what it would take to establish a national union not unlike the one France has. Clearly everyone’s individual unions are great, but we all clearly need more. There are way too many gaps and too many games being played within the scope of employees starting unions and those unions getting busted. Clearly something more needs to be done. Any ideas or thoughts on this? Maybe I’m misguided in my thoughts.
McDonald’s India Ad
I get up at 6 AM – leave at 6:45 AM – am in the office at 7:45 AM – leave at 4:30 PM and am home by 5:30 PM and go to sleep at 10:30 PM. So in theory I have 5 hours of free time. But I am so exhausted after work that I am not in the mood to do much else. Everything I do takes me twice as long as It would without work. So in thouse 5 hours I read a little, eat a little, shower, brush teeth, talk with my GF, cook something, surf the net and thats it. On saturday I do groceries + housework and on Sunday I have one regeneration day where I go out, go on walks, just sit and think. And then the week beging anew. I dont know where people find the time and energy to go to…
For backstory, a month ago I got “promoted” to Training Store Manager at the Monro Muffler Brake I've been at for three years, a role equivalent to Assistant Manager, but with the added dangling carrot of becoming Store Manager when the current acting manager finally gets assigned to a store that isn't an hour away from the poor bastard's house. (They promised him this a year+ before they stuck him in our shop, so I'm not the only one getting fucked here) The problem is, our store is too small for the ASM to be a salaried position, so it's instead “commission”. This means that I make $18 an hour, and if I did at least $4k in work a week, I'd get 20% of that money. Problem is, for two out of the five days I'm working, I'm the only Manager on duty, so I'm in the office for…
