Capitalism In Action
When a company announced mass layoffs, the stock market rewards the company. Remember that. Never forget.
No One’s Here
Okay, both supervisors are out of town for the week. No other personnel are in office today (small team, around 8 of us with half out in the field, rest at home). I work from home Tuesdays and Thursdays. The work I have to finish up can absolutely be done from home. What's mentally stopping me from getting up and going home for the remainder of the day?
I’m 22. I’m broke as hell. I’m maybe a few weeks away from needing help with my rent. I stop myself from buying groceries I want bc Ik that means less food next trip and everything is sooo expensive I’m stuck at a pizza shop rn, but I don’t make terrible money. Not great by any means, but not awful. But two months ago the AC busted there and it just got fixed a few day ago. It’s been 85-95 degrees in there everyday since, and I can’t handle heat at all. I pass out really easily. So I started looking for a new job. And they cut my hours at the pizza shop, and say I can’t get them back. But he basically is telling this to you through your contract. How do you prevent this? Don't accept it. Negotiate your salary, PTO, and other secondary stuff. You won't believe how assertive some people at key positions can be. We were recruiting a new director who…

Hello all, I had internal job opportunity inside company, but my Manager rejected it when my new hire Manager talked with him. So I stayed in the same group and lost that job opportunity. Can Manager reject your job opportunity ? Internal or external company. Is that illegal ? Thank you
Looking to lightly mess with my managers
The office staff at my job (managers+admin) suck, and I'm looking to make their daily work lives slightly more tedious/annoying/difficult, without giving us more lowly staff any issues. Any ideas?
